The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Clever move to make buys show as sells. Anything north of 1.91 is a buy
The war rhetoric over the deal with both sides making demands reminds me of Brexit negotiations. You have people working towards a deal and then the mouth pieces slating each other whilst it’s being finalised
I am sure a deal is close to being done. Ukraine is going to have to take one for the team and shave off a bit of land otherwise the west will start to realise that continually throwing ammunition and money at Ukraine is only propelling a global crisis.
Just offer the land, retract the war crimes and rescind the sanctions in return for him taking his crew home. Then during peacetime the world can quietly ramp up defences and reduce reliance on Russia and get him next time
Biden has already said sanctions will disappear as soon as Russia withdraw. The end days will see all the leaders agree to removing sanctions in return for Russia leaving with everything they wanted.

Only pump and dumping happened Friday. Tiger thinks this SP will double today lol
Tiger, you do come up with some nonsense. Your posting history is about as accurate as Russian rationale for war
We’ve been
Armchair SP clairvoyants
Armchair Chelsea football managers
Armchair peace tacticians
Armchair FCA and government sanction experts
Now you lot are bloody Armchair insolvency practitioners
Maybe sit in the armchair, log off, realise nothing is in your control and just ride it out.
In my opinion, when this reopens there will be heavy selling for those spooked and over leveraged, but should present a wonderful buying oppo and quick win if you’re able to buy.
Good luck everyone
Evraz will not be jumping through hoops as quickly as they are if they intended to delist in the UK. Can we stop this silliness
Jesus, you do know the SP will retrace next week on no news.
That will help. Not

Can’t see it delisting - the board appears to be jumping all through hoops
Proving they don’t supply steel tanks is another issue. How do you prove you didn’t do something - onus needs to be on proving they did
Not sure why people feel the demerger will be cancelled and the SP will re rate. Surely if EVR is given the go ahead to trade again then by default the demerger can also continue
Cheery opinion. Not.
Evraz shares might return to trading at some point. Personally, I think a more likely scenario is that the company’s LSE shares will be cancelled. This would probably leave Evraz shares listed on the Moscow Stock Exchange only.
If this happens, I’d guess that most UK shareholders would be unable to sell and would have to write off their investment.
They may not have dinner together but all linked to Putin who wields power. I expect Evraz to be a casualty of Putin taking revenge on the UK. He has the ear of RA and I am sure RA and Co will be well looked after by the regime
The largest three Russian stakeholders all back the same team. The dividend didn’t get suspended on its own. RA would have received notice yesterday evening before the RNS was released

@ hash.... “AB knows he will be sanctioned next week....”...
So, on what intel privy to you and no one else on this planet do you “‘know” this??...?
If only we were all in this very special “ in the know” club
You really can’t make some of this sh111t up on these boards
Short term concerns
1) for the US business, if an aggregate of 50% shareholders are sanctioned, this will impact the business. RA now sanctioned in the UK and the other major shareholder had his boat lifted the other week. RA has run back to Moscow, showing his alliance. Maybe the majority holders will try and take the PIs for a ride. https://www.allenovery.com/en-gb/global/news-and-insights/news/ofac-revises-the-50-rule-with-regards-to-aggregate-ownership
2) Before peace talks this am, the deputy minister on Ukraine reaffirmed their strong no tolerance position. Likely to end today with no resolution. It will take time for the UK and US to realise they can force Ukraine to compromise by reducing the arms shipments.
Owners with a combined 50%, Evraz won’t be doing much in the US. Export ban on Russia and this SP will crumble.
High risk at this price
Probably early am, then ride up to US open before they sell off. Traders day today possibly
Hopefully better than the TB study which resulted in failure
