The horse found dead in the box RIBBLE PET had a brilliant gallop the day before and Richard Fahey said we will go straight to Royal Ascot for its 1st race the I get a phone call the next morning and Richard told me the bad news that Kevin Ryan had found him dead in his box. We had a post mortem done and the best way the Vet said to describe it was a Cot Death.

Another poor day with 3 NH meetings. At Sedgfield I called it Sludgfield when one of my horses won there in 2000 called RIBBLE ASSEMBLY I told everyone it couldn't win in those conditions and I saddled it as Kevin Ryan was at Southwell he opened up 15/8 fav and walked it. It just goes to show you horses can make fools of you. Jack Berry said to me once that if horses could talk you wouldn't run them in half their races? In the 2.50 Sedg. EVER SO MUCH should take this. In the 3.20 Sedg. BEN CEE PEE M was second for us on 22Oct but should go one better. Both horses are 5/2 and should make a good singles and doubles bet nearly £100 for £10 double. EMBLAZE glad to see you have had 3 good days and yes you learn something every day in this game. Always be careful what horses you bet this weather I will only go for horses proven on soft/ heavy ground especially 3/4 year olds. I was lucky today had a big bet on the Irish trained 3ways told it would win and its in the Cheltenham Sales Ring Friday night so the stable new what they were doing. I took 3/1 wth Hills last night. I have been given a steer for Cheltenham at the weekend.

I hope some of you were on THREEWAYS today I did say I was told to have a good bet on it. ROYAL NORMANDY ran a good race and at 12/1 when advised led most of the way. THREWAYS WAS 3/1 last night as well. In the double 11/4 winner and a loser not too bad a day.

I think the ground at FFOS LAS was best described as atrocious I had my George boots on and when I walk out on the course with a Jockey it was that soft I sank to the top of my boots and had to be helped out. Very poor racing on Monday but we will try our luck. My daily double will be 2.35 Southwell BRAVE RICHARD. 2.50 Carlisle. SALUBRIOUS. There's one EW small bet on MINISTEROFINTERIOR 2.00 Southwell. Heavy rain this morning will make FFOS LAS very heavy in the 3.15 CONAS TAOI with Conor Shoemark in the saddleQ. Conor is a very good conditional jockey who rode a winner for me at Exeter when he was an amateur. My other fancy is the Alain Cowley piloted CHIC NAME 1.50 Sandown. I am off to FFOS LAS Paddy has a couple of good rides there and one which should run well with only 10st on his back ( Paddy won't have eat much this weekend) in the the 3.50 FISHING BRIDGE. That was a terrible ride from start to finish by Geraghty gives the stable companion 20lenghts start and hung behind with double handful and should have gone to the front in stead of showing off. I hope stewards have a look at it??

Richard Fahey is off to USA for Breeders Cup so he will be hoping OUR BOY JACK 2.20 Notts. can keep his very successful strike rate up. Just got back from Cardiff City v Bristol Ciy not a good game and not a good result for the Blues. I've had a very strong word for TWO TAFFS 3.00 Bangor. In the 3.30 Bangor GEE HI was highly rated back in 2012 by Sam T-D and a couple of injuries has set it back but class and fitness will make him hard to beat. Finally in the Bumper 4.30 Bangor TANARPRINO is worth a punt after a close 2nd over this course and distance 26 days ago. GLA
