I expected Energean’s FPSO and Chevron’s FPSO / Platform to be targeted after US and Israel targeted the South Pars field. It’s going to happen isn’t it?

Chariot still owes money to drilling contractors in relation to Anchois and or Loukos. They agreed payment plans. But defaulted on em long ago. Contractors clamouring for payments now. You couldnae make it up.

Don’t be surprised if Energean’s FPSO is destroyed this week.

It looks like Duncan “Jock” Wallace (aka Witless) and his team will have ‘work’ for many years to come on ‘operations’ in Morocco, Mauritania, Angola and Namibia. Er…great news I suppose.

They raise 20 million to do this deal. The deal falls over and they use the funds to keep themselves in grotesque pay n parks for another 4 or 5 years. They’ve done it before. And they might well do it again.

I predicted many moons ago that the Chariot would struggle to create newcos without losing the Namibian back in rights and possibly the Anchois license. That is what has happened. So they are forced to sell the solar panel rental business. Not a bad plan in itself as net zero nonsense is going out of fashion fast.

So the transitional gas co. looks like becoming an old-school oilie co. But what a business. The rubbish in Morocco. A vague possibility of of back-in to more value destruction in Namibia. And now a very complex deal in Angola. And who is in charge and looking forward to a few more years of excessive pay n perks? The same old scam merchants who've had your hard-earned for many years.

And then there's Malcy pontificating on the sidelines.

Them lot alone is costing you in the region of 2.5 million a year. Then there’s the offices, the gofers, the travel and the ancillaries.

A few big companies have drilled offshore Morocco…Repsol, Cairn, ENI and Energean come to mind. The only one to have discovered gas is Repsol. And they walked away. Murphy are not great explorers. The likely winners might be handful of individuals getting jobs with Murphy for a while. I’d be surprised if the French fella hasn’t got his resume over to Murphy already. If he gets a bite, he’ll use it to bump his already crazy high expat deal or to get the top job in the oilie spin-off (if that ever happens). But for losers on here it’s just noise.

Murphy will have to spend years studying and appraising their recently acquired acreage. Unlike Chariot, they have the resources to do it. I wonder if the French fella has fired off his cv to Murphy with a view to extending his colonial lifestyle. If he does jump ship, will Witless be deployed out there to save money?

You can see it from Anchois presentations…multiple wells in deep water and in each well multiple completions to access small gas pockets each with massive water risk. And no tests ever carried out. It’s uninvestable I’m afraid.

And the fact they have done nothing with Loukos since the so-called discovery tells you all you need to know. Onshore gas fields are cheap to get going but Chariot haven’t moved it forward. Go figure.

Seems to me that Witless is reconciled to the fact that Morocco is a dud. He wants to hand the poisoned chalice to the French guy so he can focus on elephant hunting in Namibia (with your money).

A very unlucky guy. Rumour has it that many on the Energean rig bought in and bailed out before the duster was announced. It’s likely rife now as Brit oilie people see their overpaid careers ending and need to feather their nests.
