I will agree with you that (in hindsight) you have to plan and look to providing for yourself in this world. Never trust a government with your well being.

The NHS is currently in the worst state since it's inception. Many have told me this and I learned the truth of it recently. Hopeless communication , massive witing lists. Given this information back in the day I think many would have taken a different view to their old age. I don't consider myself old, Many think I'm a lot younger. I don't don't feel it some days.

1970, I signed up to having a big chunk of my tiny salary taken in exchange ,in consideration for a pension @ 65. They and subsequent governments not only moved the goalposts but broke the contract. They broke it to fulfil their own political ends . I was lucky ,I waited only 9 months. Many will wait much longer ,Especially women. Some are growing older and near their date and see the finishing line moving away.

It should be a national scandal. But of course trying to sue the "lawmakers" is impossible.

No government interference please . Food education must continue in schools so that it carries on in later life. As for packaging.they do it better and greener in the USA, Spain ,Portugal etc....
