Russian President Vladimir Putin hosted UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in the Kremlin on Tuesday for talks revolving around the Ukrainian crisis. The two discussed the situation on the ground, with Putin explaining to the UN chief Russia’s reasons for launching its military operation against the neighboring country in late February.

Moscow’s move to recognize the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Lugansk was based on the Kosovo precedent, set up by a UN-backed court, Putin told Guterres. The republics emerged after people living in Ukraine’s east rejected the Western-backed 2014 Maidan, he explained.

Putin added that the post-coup Kiev government opted for a military solution that led to the eight-year standoff in the Donbass.

Guterres pointed out that the UN itself still does not recognize Kosovo as an independent entity, viewing it as a part of Serbia. Putin, however, parried that the legal precedent still exists, as Kosovo received wide recognition in the West.

UK can do what it likes with it's own nuclear deterrent totally independent of US. It is only US nuclear weapons that are deployed overseas on other NATO members territory that US controls.

So I sold £20000 of Lloyds shares @ 46.875p from my share account yesterday to transfer to my ISA Account to buy back today expecting a big drop in SP. Bought back this morning @46.56p for a net gain of 18 shares. lol. I nearly bought back just before close of market last night for 46p but thought I would get them cheaper this morning! Oh well, at least I've gained 18 shares and now have another £20000 worth in an ISA getting tax free dividends. lol

Well £1.2 bn profit after tax beat consensus estimates of £1.054 bn so that should be seen as a positive! This is Lloyds though and the Market always finds a reason to knock Lloyds back so lets see what Market reaction is at open?

Just checked the Halifax website and looks as though they are very similar to HL; you have to sell the shares first in your Share Account and then the money is not available to transfer for 2 days.

It's strange how it works though. I have the money available to reinvest from the sale of the shares right now if I want to in my Fund and Share Account. But I cannot transfer that Money to my ISA Account today, I have to wait 4 days?

I sold Lloyds shares to the value of £20000 from my Fund and Share Account with Hargreaves Lansdown this afternoon and the plan is to transfer to my this to my ISA Account for this years ISA and then invest back into Lloyds tomorrow morning. After the sale I tried transferring the money from my Fund and Share Account to my ISA Account but I could not do it. I phoned Hargreaves Lansdown and they informed me it takes 3 to 4 days before the trade is settled before I can transfer the money? Not much help as I wanted the money available to invest tomorrow in the expectation that the SP will fall somewhat after Q1 results announced? To get around this I have had to transfer £20000 cash from my bank account to my ISA which is now available to invest tomorrow, and when the funds clear from my sale of shares this afternoon I will transfer £20000 back into my bank account.

HSBC currently down -3.6% after release of Q1 2022 report.

So your figures are derived solely from HSBC down 30%, so your figures are 30% below Lloyds Q1 2021 actual figures? The Analysts consensus-pre results for Lloyds come in at down 25%. Attached is a link to the report released by Lloyds on 7th April.
