I just think people misuse the phrase priced in. It's priced in in the sense this won't open up 20% higher but we'll hopefully see a continual steady rise over the next few weeks now to a much higher level.

I'd be a bit worried about the sluggishness of p3 if it wasn't for the fact we have Home trial data in hand and we know how swift activ 2 is going to be. It's a case of which direction to look now, it's tough to call which bit of news to expect next.

Thanks Matterhorn. In the end of the day even if it does start to err towards scenario 1, not 2, we are talking full recruitment say mid April rather mid March. Synairgen's long term value will not be altered because of a few weeks delay in p3 results.

Sorry Hanoi if it seemed like I was arguing with you over cost, I wasn't. My response was more in response to the notion that SNG001 may turn out to be unattractive due to its prohibitive cost, something that I think we both agree won't be the case.

It's excellent news then for us that the Home Trial set up nearly a year ago put such strict requirements in place (over 70 or over 50 with comorbidities). If that shows that early intervention with sng001 significantly reduces the chance of this cohort needing hospital treatment then that'll be significant. We know it's unlikely we are going to be treating 25 year olds with no history of illness with this drug.

Personally though I think it will be worth its weight in gold for its potential uses as a broad spectrum antiviral. If it begins to be looked at in this light there's no end to what the p/e ratio could be...

Hanoi, price is surely not the ONLY consideration though is it? The role of the healthcare system is to look after its population in the most cost effective way possible, it isn't about keeping costs as low as possible full stop. If it was they could just shut the whole thing down altogether, that would cost zero to the government.

There is an additional cost to those that end up ill with covid. It is the costs associated with long term illness, unemployment benefits and welfare and loss of tax revenue.

Cost absolutely cannot be used as an excuse smack bang in the middle of a pandemic, the government could treat every single vulnerable person in this country with sng001 at a fraction of the cost that the pandemic and related concerns over variants is costing them.
