It's a definite hold for me, and if I had the funds I would probably buy more. But the short-term share price risk has increased dramatically. It's all dependent on the Kuparak result now, a result that looks highly likely to be good. There is a placing to come. With 4 oil zones still to test in next season it will be easier to raise funds at a better price as institutions buy on the long term prospects. However, slightest problem with the Kuparak and we will take a hit, then perhaps having to get away a placing at sub- 30p. Telemachus suggests we will know the result 10 days from now.

From this, i'd expect the settlement before a court to be that whatever money we receive from Eneo to fulfil their part of the contract, we will then have to supply them with that gas so as to match the monies awarded. It is only the compensation money for breach of contract awarded that will go straight to the bottom line. If we can have an amicable settlement, then the most valuable part of the arrangement is likely to be the renewing of a monthly offtake contract by Eneo on a monthly level similar to the mmscf/d, or a volume higher than before; and regular monthly payment, of course.

jed - i think Eneo's argument is they've paid for gas they've taken, but are not prepared to fulfil their 'take or pay contract' i.e not prepared to pay for the gas they did not take but should have. Clearly a breach of contract. Too, highly damaging for our company not having a reliable income. Perhaps its a bit like having a tenant on a 6-month contract who leaves 4 months early without payment yet legally prevents you getting in a new tenant until the 6 months are up? This is my understanding anyway, but no legal eagle here.

Our take: Whilst there appears to be a number of legal issues the Company is working through on a corporate level, VOG continues to make operational progress in Cameroon. The company now has a well stock of four wells at Logbaba, albeit with very different production characteristics, but shareholder will view the increased watercut as a concern. In the Matanda license, VOG continues to progress the ranking of prospects and the start of the well planning phase ahead of a potential farm-out of the licence.

Ten months back, I, too, wasn't first here for a recovery play - I originally thought the involvement of Messrs Kelly and Collins would be about M&A - bringing in a cash rich partner. Beginning to look like K&C will railroad this through under their own steam, given another year.. Doing a grand job.

In Cameroon, the pangolin is one of the totally protected species. The wildlife law in force in the country provides that anyone found in possession of parts of a fully protected species is liable to a prison sentence of one to three years and a fine of 3 to 10 million. FCFA.

Trafficking in pangolin scales is rampant in the country, which is among the few territories with three species of pangolins: the black-bellied pangolin, the white-bellied pangolin and the giant pangolin. According to a recent report by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), between 400,000 and 2.7 million pangolins are poached each year in the forests of Central Africa.
