BP Repsol pulled out of Buchan on the back of low oil prices and an ageing platform. Lots of people lost their jobs in the offshore industry back then. 2016 oil dropped to $30 which put the nail in the coffin for Buchan, by 2017 it closed. After HSE inspections of the platform they found it structurally sound, but to late decision had been made. GLA

Good day today and more expected imho, price held up well. News must be coming and end of the month or start would be great.

Licence blocks 20/5d and 21/a totally surround the Buchan oil field and 21/a surrounds Glenn so we know oil is there it’s just how much.
JOG valued at £40 mill well worth a buy.
Never easy to extract oil from the North Sea but technology improves every year and we can expect many more years of production from these old sites. Buy in partner will make this interesting.

Enegi Oil (LON:ENEG) gave investors a boost on a quiet end to the week, with the oil firm rising for the second day in a row. Today’s 12% rise comes day after the AIM-quoted firm unveiled a deal to take a 5% stake in Jordan’s highly prospective Dead Sea-WadiAraba Block. In return for the stake, the AIM-listed explorer will provide its technical and development expertise. Enegi chief executive Alan Minty called the deal an “excellent opportunity”, which helps de-risk the company’s growing portfolio of projects. It requires require low capital investment and allows the firm to “access significant potential upside”, with an estimated reserve of more than 1.1bn barrels in the field. The deal follows success closer to home in the last North Sea licensing round.

Great potential here imho Clare basin comes to mind Alan Minty, CEO of Enegi, commented: "Clare Basin is a highly prospective project and we are delighted to be involved at this early stage. Our findings and the report from Fugro have further endorsed Management's belief that the Clare Basin has a strong best case investment profile. The whole acreage appears to be very prospective and we are particularly excited by the area at the centre of the existing seismic grid which we have defined as high grade. UK government are now on track to encourage shale gas and oil and the S Koreans in Jordan gangman style all looking good to me.gl
