It's the pics that do me - every time I see more pics, it reminds me of the scale of the business. How on earth SD and the guys keep a close eye on everything that's going on, I don't know.

I think it was already mentioned here previously that the focus next year will see less spent on Hav so the focus will still be on Telfer.

Interested that Growth Capital - Resource Development and Exploration have a merged projected spend next year - it was $10m on Exploration this year just gone - anyone have an idea how much specifically on Exploration next year out of the combined budget?

Anyway, it was, as usual interesting and motivating reading.

I'm constantly torn between caution and risk taking - I guess I'm 50/50 split on my investments between the two thought processes.

I have (for me) a big chunk of the 'risk money invested in GGP, and that is because having followed the ups and downs for a few years now, I feel like I know all I need to know about this stock. Notwithstanding that I rely a lot on inputs from Bamps et al with the more technical stuff, I feel comfortable with the trajectory of GGP.

Whenever I 'wobble' and worry I'm taking too much risk, I re-read this kind of analysis:

Hope that link works - but basically Warren Buffet argues that diversification is also not without its risks.

My post is not a dig at anyone's investment strategy, merely my input into the conversation.

Fair enough - but just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting anyone become 'fixated' with it, but to ignore it completely would be a mistake imo.

As Bamps has said, currency fluctuations are now, for us UK holders, an even more important factor in deciding our sp.

The listing on the ASX has meant we are now having to pay far more serious attention to the £ to Aus$ exchange rate, than before.

In October 2002, the Aus$ was 2.83 to the £. At Friday's close on the ASX of $5.15, this would make the £ sp = £1.82

In March 2013, the Aus$ was 1.45 to the £. At Friday's close on the ASX of $5.15, this would make the £ sp = £3.55

I appreciate this is a simplistic example; but the simple £/Aus$ exchange rate is worth keeping an eye on, imo.

As the driver of the share price is now the ASX, we holders on AIM could do with the Aussie dollar strengthening against the pound.
