I am not sure if the YPF Argentina case has any wider read through for LCM? There is even speculation of US political pressure to help their "friend" Milei in Argentina. In any case it is only the US court that has ruled against it and Burford are now going down the ICSID arbitration route.

Cadence Minerals RNS reveals funding from LCM, though I have not yet seen this mentioned in an LCM RNS.

This is possibly positive in that it means LCM is not going into run off mode and is still doing new business, though we should find out more with results on 31 March.

RNS today says they hope to update in late March with delayed results. And they had a win on a Katy Perry case in Oz.

Have they actually announced any raise? Any other news today - or is it just selling on the general panic?

I think a placing is unlikely as RNS says litigation funding can be used for working capital

Today's RNS says that " All the legal costs in relation to the matter as well as a significant portion of G&A costs are to be funded through the $11.2 million litigation funding facility confirmed in January 2025.

The point "A significant portion of G&A costs" surely reduces the risk of more issuance and dilution?

We are now waiting for the NOA (Notice of Arbitration) and Statement of Claim (SOC). I am not sure we would get the previous quarterly updates. We will only hear from the company now when there is some meaningful news. The last RNS update said they had drawn down the first slice of litigation funding when that happened - it was not done on a quarterly schedule.

The Emmerson RNS on litigation funding said it could be used for working capital, which may remove the need for more issuance and dilution.

Currently the base case valuations are USD 2.2 billion for Emmerson from 2024 and USD 1 billion for PAT, though Emmerson may increase its valuation - and PAT is presenting an updated SOC by May 16. What is your base case for each claim value?

African exploration must have some option value, which has increased at a higher gold price. There are other listed firms that a pure plays on African gold exploration and they have some value. But do you mean that the Indian dispute accounts for all of the current value, with nothing left over for the African gold?
