My take on it is that perhaps the BoD have realised that some of the deals recently have left the company wanting, possibly undersold themselves and the new appointment has been made to get a better deal from now on in.

The SP is only limbering up at the moment, once the RNS is released then it should be out of the blocks.

Will the new PM increase the tax gas producers pay, or reduce the amount of tax they collect?
Increase taxes as they can, or decrease what they collect as this must be currently well above what they would have budgetted to collect?

Agree Howey, sticking ‘major player’ in the RNS is not the sort of statement to make for the sake of it, just what plans has he got up his sleeve?
The quickest way might be by proxy, as in a takeover by Shell or BP I suppose, but that is fantasy stuff.

Got some experience there between them, and the small matter of where the aim is…becoming a big player.

@Howey1927, likewise when the post says something along the lines of 'new here, been watching for a while, brought my first tranche' sometimes we dont need to know everything detail... all red flags to me, along with a moniker like 'top trader, masterofaim, shareguru' etc again all red flags.
An exception to my foibles is our friend BV, who to be fair appears to give a balanced view, and is quite good at giving the swampies and split persona lot a good reposte.
