QFI do not release RNS just to try and alter the share price, they issue news when it is a legal requirement to do so, and if they believe an update on operations is due because matrial progress has been made on projects.

QFI have stated at AGM's in the past that they cannot and will not release RNS in an attempt to move the share price. As far as QFI are concerned, the market decides the share price, whilst QFI progress the business in the hope that the market sees greater value in the stock.

There are multiple drivers to where a share price goes, including market wide moves, economics (such as boom and recession), and sector wide moves. QFI is not in business to fight all of these, it can only do it's business and hope that it is successful enough to take advantage off bullish market trends and outperform in bearish market trends.

Probably not. Why would a seller want to do that, as it would be more likely to lower the price, and they would get less money for their subsequent sells? Shooting themselves in the foot seems very unlikely. If anything I'd say it's just the limit on the number of shares they can sell, possibly at a given price.

All that is saying is that they can't tell you anything, they have to tell the whole market or nobody. I get that you are thinking that then means the fuel being released from customs is material, but to me it is just a generalisation.

If they told you the fuel had been released, you would know that the trial was about to commence but the rest of the market wouldn't. So in a way it could be viewed as price sensitive, but on the other hand it's not material because it does not mean that the trial will be successful.

It's a bit of a complicated one for QFI and the NOMAD to decide whether an RNS is required or not for this event, but in my view, and as per QFI not advising in the past of fuel shipped or delivered, it is not, although I think they should do it out of courtesy having told us 2 fuels were held up, then one, so should advise us when it's none.

I checked and the 100 share trade is said to mean "I need shares", which coupled with the much higher price would make sense.

Tanzania certainly wouldn't be spending £24.28m, immense staff resource hours etc on this pipeline if there was any question over the gas being there.

As per the job advert, 9 months, project starting soon, so still on target for first commercial gas in very early 2024, a year ahead of the original plans.

I am expecting an operations update RNS soon, because ARA and AEX operations updates have so far been at the start of the month.

What I'd like to see in the RNS:
Accurate spud date
3D Seismic update (and possible resource update if they have got that far with it)
Gas Pipeline approval and commencement confirmed to the market
Kiliwani 3D Seismic start

As said recently, ARA gave the March spud date based on 'rig availability', so they went to the rig supplier and asked when the rig would be available and were told "March". I would then expect ARA to have immediately booked that available rig rather than lose it to another operator and then have to search for a different rig, so I therefore do not expect any delay to the March spud advice.

Yeah, 14,264,500 showing in the ? column on advfn as they were all at MID price. 13,000,000 of these yesterday as well.

The fact the price did not drop suggests they are buys. And the fact the price hasn't moved up suggests the deal price limit 0.39p so they want to keep the price here while they pick up any loose stock.

Once they finish we could see the price quickly walked up on low volume. Let's see.

That does not mean that the fuel leaving Customs is material news, he didn't say it was, that is up to the NOMAD to advise based on the rules and regulations. He could just be referring to trial completion being the material news.

As I said, the fuel leaving Customs does not determine the success of the trial, as in the fuel could be delivered but then the trial could fail. This is why in the past QFI have not advised of fuel shipped or fuel delivered to site, it is just part of operations to enable the trial to go ahead, where the outcome of the trial is the only price sensitive news.

QFI would speak to their NOMAD and ask them if it was required to be announced under the rules and regulations.

The NOMAD could decide that it is a minor detail that is not price moving, it is the trial itself and success or otherwise of that which is the price sensitive news that has to be announced. Getting the fuel to site, although required for the trial to fully commence, does not determine the ultimate success of the trial.

My view (as stated at 14:41 today) is just what I think they 'should' do, it's not necessarily what the rules and regulations require them to do.

Despite the con men wasting another day of their sad lives trying to find more baseless irrelevant negative spin to throw on this board, the intraday chart looks great today, very bullish, pushing and pushing upwards, with the bulls eating up the sells.

PR 1 and SK 301 are only 1000HP so being smaller than Caroil 3 I have ruled those out.

Sakson have several suitable rigs. No need to pick a specific rig.

The rig contractor that Blackgold posted was chosen by ARA, they have multiple rigs all big and much more powerful than the Caroil rig used for Ntorya wells, so they would not be stuck on a specific rig, any of those rigs would be fine for it.

According to ancient legend, a 100 trade is a signal that an RNS has been lodged for tomorrow open. The price being higher would suggest a positive RNS, whereas a price at or below the BID would suggest negative.

Most in the trade say this no longer happens because a lot of trading is SETS and traders all have plenty of other ways to message each other.

I guess tomorrow we'll find out if it's true or not.

Unless ARA say otherwise, a suitable rig (not a boneshaker) was available in March 2023, and as ARA went to the trouble of finding out that a suitable rig was indeed available in March, I fully expect them to have booked it immediately rather than miss out and then have to find another one. This is why, unless advised otherwise by ARA, I will continue to believe the spud date remains as March.

My thinking on this is that they advised us once when both fuels were stuck in customs, then again when only one fuel remained stuck, so the precedent was set that we should be advised when no fuel is stuck in customs.
