Many used EV batteries will go for a second life at power storage sites, as they will still have 50% of capacity left when swapped out of EV's (most have guarantee's for 100,000 miles or 8 years these days, and often last well past 150,000 miles before hitting 50% capacity, especially Tesla and the newer battery technology), but those deemed unsuitable or coming out of power storage systems …..

There are no doubt cases where gensets are used to fix grid issues, but they are not specifically brought in to charge EV's which is what that article spin says. If a diesel genset is brought in, then it's more worrying that everyone in the area would be powering thinks like TV, kettle, electric boiler, electric shower, washing machine and dryer, etc, on diesel, as EV's will only charge once a week or once every 2 or 3 weeks, whereas all the other stuff is using the electric every day.

This is a great one to shove up the naysayers and con men.

Many are looking at switching to LFP. Some Chinese brands only use LFP already. Tesla are changing. BMW, Ford, Mercedes, and others have been linked to LFP.

Also, this is yet another example of the level of dignitaries invited to Extreme E (you can't buy tickets, it is invite only!), and that many of them have shown a big interest in the AFC system. These are often the rich and famous, industry and business leaders, people that might be able to use AFC FC systems in their business, promote it where it could be used, and/or invest in AFC.

Extreme E is not the waste of time that the con men try to portray it, FACT.

Why would AFC power their own facilities with Fuel Cells, apart from PR, as clearly:

1) There is no issue with the grid connections
2) They don't use a diesel genset
3) The power would likely cost more than the baseload power they currently use

Fuel Cells are a solution to problems that AFC do not have.

If AFC want to go off grid and use that as PR fair enough, but I would not expect them to do that until they are raking in some regular money, as the money in the bank is better spent on building sales revenues, new products, etc.

garmoan must be really peeved that he didn't get in around the 1p mark like several of the GENUINE long term holders on here. Trying to make up for it by day trading must be like banging his head on the wall day in day out, praying that news does not arrive, praying that someone with big money doesn't come along and place a huge buy order that blows his trading plan out of the water, praying that he can skim enough to pay the online platform that demands he does X number of trades every month or have to pay a higher fee, praying that he can skim enough on top to pay his bedsit rent and diet of beans on toast, etc.

I am actually very chilled out about the price, with my shares in paper certs, and waiting for the BIG money, no stress at all here.

I remember that news at the time and I also remember the AB video put out at the time, where he expanded on the system.

The idea was that AFC could get people with big diesel gensets that still had many years of life in them, on to Fuel Cells by adding them to the diesel gensets they already had.

This would allow the clients to get into Ammonia logistics prior to the end of life of the diesel gensets.

What you then need to factor in, is that the clients knew that the UK was ban red diesel in Gensets, which becomes the perfect timing to introduce Fuel Cells, either to replace the Genset, or to create the hybrid that AFC demonstrated at MSP.

1st of April 2022 the ban comes in. HFC will be ready, L Series is also available.
