Like I said, you and other pensioners deserve to get returns on your long term investments but capital growth might be better (like a house). Personally I think crypto money, some AIM money should be in some FTSE100 shares but declining SP scares them off.

Clearly we don’t have the cash to invest which means a takeover is the best option. If the CEO is bold, she will talk up the SP above 250p then raise £500m.

itv needs just 1 HBO quality show to justify the need for aggressive expansion of itv hub. Itv hub can also be listed separately thereby raising much needed cash from new investors. They could easily overvalue itv hub and sell 40% stake to the public via AIM.

I should write to the boss lady to see if she shares my concerns.

At this rate I would become a small time VOD MM very soon.

It looks like one needs to keep buying until something magical happens.

Good that you agree that the divi commitment means itv is under-investing both short and long term. Same problem with other companies as they would be sold down if they were bold enough to axe divi. A takeover would mean no divi to pay and loads of execs / managers to sack......huge savings!

My knowledge is limited but yours is limited as well. Keep believing the millennial hype..........reminds me of dot com hype back then. I like Netflix and amazon because they sell subscriptions, i would change my mind if Facebook makes most of its money from subscribers than selling data, hyping their active fake user numbers to their friends who advertise with them.

That is a great piece, the hype about online shopping & advertising is out of this world. Millenials and gen Z are so rich as well........yeah right.

I don’t like Facebook and YouTube as they are something else entirely. I saw Yahoo go up and down.......same fate awaits Facebook if they don’t change and become boring and professional. You can’t make money forever from dodgy videos, fake profiles, selling personal data, scam adverts and extremist stuff. If ITV is allowed to show dodgy ads then it would be growing like crazy too. Those crypto ads were so juicy that they reverted the ban within a month. Zucker didn’t even know that 70% ad revenue is from TV / main media rejects. Targeted ads my ar se, i say personal data harvesting makes them most money.

I understand the need for return but business growth and sustainability comes first. ITV has been liquidating itself via dividends and special divi when it should have invested more in itv hub and better shows like sky did.....nowtv and great exclusive shows like riviera and others.

The bloodsucking dividend crazy older shareholders are the problem in this country. Share trading might become more interest like the U.S after the next crisis once companies abolish dividends. I hate the self liquidating effect of dividends with most shares.

YouTube is a cesspit but you can learn from them. Give me control of itv hub and I will exploit those indie studios, university/ college studios, new startup studios with no friends in the industry. I will take their shows for free and split ad money only with them. The ad-free version would show the best new shows first (a week early). YouTube is disgusting and dangerous.......my kid is banned from watching some dumb girl unwrapping tiny plastic toys all day. They are either wasting time making slime or putting plastic beads in the bathtub.

Itv hub can learn from YouTube by putting some free third party indie shows on it and share ad revenue. The same reason why Amazon and EBay are growing is because they work with individual sellers. The U.K is too stuck up and conservative to grow.

As we can all see, the only problem in the report is the low level of investment going forward. She could have bluffed a bigger number like say 300 million investment within the next 3 years. The dumb Adam crozier just wasted money on special divi when competition was hot. I still don’t understand those special divi or else it was just a way to liquidate big funds positions without reducing their holdings.

I agree with you, they lack confidence and desire to compete. That is why a takeover by liberty would help. Virgin media can use ITV in a great way.

As you can see that the new CEO will extract value from itv hub. If YouTube can grow with dumb amateur videos then itv hub can do better with real shows.......all about admoney here. Itv hub needs to be like a YouTube for professional studio shows that can’t get a slot on TV or any VOD service.

I told you guys, forget about the numbers.........this lady is spot-on. She’s bluffing big time and I like the hype she’s put into the results. Liberty would read this and start planning their move.........itv can get some of that online ad cash via itv hub. 10% rise by end of the week?

I don’t think children should be allowed to watch YouTube as it is a cesspit. I understand Netflix but YouTube is a joke until it becomes a Netflix competitor and clear out the 99.99999 junk of amateur crap on its service.
