If the Oil price dropped substantially imho it wouldn't inhibit the development of Cambay. With 1.3billion people and a rapidly growing economy India's energy needs are paramount, short term fluctuations are virtually immaterial.

Oilex has literally become a punching bag for the market and those who play it. Until we see real progress towards exploiting the resource very little is likely to change. All we've had for the last three odd years is mostly just continuous speculation. This is in no way trying to influence the direction people choose to take, simply calling it as I see it. Well knownthec previous MD was loose cannon who obviously didn't have a clue. As for what's been acomplished over the last four years the answer is precious little.

Being realistic the market Cap is where it is because of a litany of broken promises and total inability to negotiate a resulution to progress drilling after years of inactivity Only those like myself who I must say don't have too many options still see the upside

It's a well know fact that Modi was Chief Minister of Gujarat for ten years before becoming PM. Congress, are as oppositions do, digging all the dirt they can find on the current Government, this however is no guarantee that GSPC will inevitably be wound up. IMHO either party would take extremely seriously the prospect of an energy entity of this magnatude failing.

During the tenure of the previous MD and especially with regards the drilling operations of 77h this board abounded with posters claiming to have had deep and meaningful discussions on a regular basis with management on operational matters and share price predictions. I myself took it all with a grain of salt, for if what they were maintaining was in fact being passed on it could clearly constitute insider trading.

Well one things for sure little has changed in the last three years and that's where the inherent problem lies ... beginning to think that maybe nothing will!

Undoubtedly GSPC are in dire financial trouble, the question is will the powers to be allow an entity in the energy market as large as this go to the wall (also it should be noted articles regarding their Impending demise are to a large extent motivated by political shenanigans) Wouldn't be at all surprise that post arbitration Oilex are still in bed with GSPC, with hopefully some of the current impediments to the drilling program removed. All I want to see is a tool turning again Good Luck!

There is every possibility that GSPC have the full backing of a very wealthy State Government and are not asset poor, so wouldn't write them off just yet

Feb 2009 Australian-based oil & gas group Oilex has formally marked its transition to cash flow and production by delivering a strong December Quarter performance, announcing it has started oil production from its Cambay oil field in October in India with 16,800 barrels of oil produced during the December 2008 quarter from two wells. Oilex commenced production from Miocene Basal Sand (MBS) in the Cambay Field on 17 October 2008 from the Cambay-64 well, which produced 9,374 barrels to the end of December. A second well, Cambay-74, was brought into production on 5 December, and produced 7,453 barrels to the end of the quarter.

When I came onboard in 2008 Oilex were producing small quantities of oil, this was supposedly deemed uneconomical (but no clear explanation was ever given) to concentrate on gas (the big picture) Transparency has never been their strong point and imho a reason why the market continues to judge them so harshly
