Was reflecting on what has been announced and released in quite a short period this year. Whilst the recent share price action is a bit disappointing, when you zoom out not that long, we had them confirm:

- Optimal works

- Us patent

- Three contracts with Big biotech ($460k)-

- another big pharma contract

- optimal confirmation it works even better and NCI want it for years

- met fy25 expectations

- stack of investor engagements

- another big pharma contract win

- h1 revenues beating last years h2 and bigging up improving prospects for h2 this year. Brokers forecasting £1.4m in h2

- cash runway confirmed until fy27

- optimal exceeding their expectations and creating new market opportunies for them.

All whilst it hasn’t launched yet which is about to happen and whilst NCI have been locked out of their labs which they’re now going to be allowed back into to sign on the dotted line, hopefully ahead of the Optimal launch in December 15 in San Diego.

If feels like we’re coming to a serious inflection point for the company, hopefully we see the impact of Optimal which they have said will be transformational and a return and beyond to historical revenues and profitability soon.

Shutdown over now, now to finalise the NCI deal. This if they pull it off will be gold standard endorsement from key opinion leader in the industry at the Us federal research agency. Great way to commercially launch their world first patented technology that is said by the company going to bring a step change in their fortunes .

Government open again and the start of the build up to the optimal launch on December 15 clearly live with this video. Hopefully the first of many releases in advance of this big day for the company

Few delayed buys showing from earlier now. People waking up to the significance of the NCI contract and the shutdown concluding maybe

The existing 2 year deal with the USA national cancer institute was annnounced on 28th November 2023. One can assume that the deal expires either on this date or before therefore we’ll be hoping that the extension contract is sealed before that date to ensure continuity of access.

In my view, given NCI know how to use the platform in their labs for the longer term deal we’re more likely to see a licensing model with perhaps upfront access fees, either per target or per annum, loaded hopefully with royalties on each target or antibody produced.

Perhaps the balance towards rotalty end on those rather than heavy up front fees but you never know.

The royalty entitlement would be a big long term value driver given the number of assets NCI is putting out.

Looks like good news also for Finn therapeutics who FAB have that antibody asset grant partnership with. They’ve been accepted onto an INNOVATE uk accelerator programme. Hopefully good news for the FAB antimRamp patented asset they mentioned in their annual report

Also incidentally good for fab as their client base largely US based so stronger return in sterling for the dollar contracts

Also in terms of supporting evidence the market is improving; the XBI s&P biotech index is trading at 109.84 a level not seen since December 2021. This follows the downturn to lows in the 60s in the period of downturn. Brokers seem to think this is good evidence of the small cap biotech funding environment improving significantly and hopefully as you say this feeds through into revenues this year. Brokers are forecasting h2 revenues of £1.4m this year. That would be a rise of 84% on h2 last year and a rise of 67% on h1 this year. Impressive growth predicted which the company seem to say is backed up by their strong order book and sales pipeline. Only time will tell but it is looking positive at a time the company are generating increasing interest and traction with large pharma and biotech clients.

Agree RP the bread and butter business seems to be growing well and they have rationalised their cost base with the grant funding also giving a temporary (albeit over 5 years) improvement in margins and reduction in cash burn. The company MCAP was around £40m a few years ago with higher costs, less mature technology, and fewer partnerships. As the revenues and contracts hopefully continue to grow as the board have described in h2, and brokers are forecasting in FY27 then it looks like there’s might be a good path ahead back above that and beyond. That’s what I’m hoping for

Agree Sean, it’s a phenomenal endorsement of the technology and will hopefully unlock a pathway to significant contracts in the industry.

Looks like they’re starting the launch presentations ahead of the December conference. They’re at a big conference PEGS this week according to their LinkedIns promoting Optimal.
