Technically not so. When Candy "gave" Bonnier his Boom, it was trading in the 150-200p range. After giving it to him, Candy so his own holdings balloon a stagering 800%. something that he had never ever managed to do under his own holding. Instead of cashing out, he couldn't as he was a major shareholder and would require notification, so he pledged out. Imagine if on the way up as the SP grew lots of long positions were taken by the "other" insiders. Everyone made money (maybe not us :)). Wash rinse repeat, and take it all the way back down. Surely Candy doesnt think Bonniers only bit of money is tied up with a few million pounds of stock in AB. If it was then how does Bonnier still afford a decent lifestyle, and also take Candy to court ? If i was a betting man i would say Candy's underestimated his opponent, big time !
