Discussing a possible buy out is quiet reasonable, it is the aim of most of the small companies on The aim market, and in Genedrive's situation it is a desired outcome and has been the aim of the company since it was set up.
There may well have been no take over of a small diagnostic company since covid (i have no idea if this is fact or not) but that doesn't mean that it wont happen. NCYT is in a completely different position to GDR and a much less attractive proposition
At least this discussion is about GDR and not other possible investments.

Beckman have no one over a barrel lol.
They can try buy the shares on the open market or they can make an offer (if they want to) which is in line with the BODs value of the company.
The present share price is irrelevant by the time they make any offer (if they do) as is tbh the share price when they make the offer.
Any buy out price would have to account for the potential value of all of GDR's current products and something for the potential in the future.
If it looks likely that they will make an offer, every tom dick and vulture will being trying to buy up as much as they can (or that is what happened last time as any offer will be a multiple of the share price when it is suspended. The buying pressure of the bottom feeing frenzy would certainly raise the share price considerably.

My guess is that by the time they make an offer MMcap will be north of £200M

If GDR can get sizable sales outside of the Beckman partnership say in India or Africa we are looking at a very different ball park figure.

my guess is that they would allow some up tick of share price first. and that there would be some on approvals and on first sales and possibly more on successful set up of joint lab. (there is so much news coming in that it is very possible share price maybe much higher. (or not it is GDR after all)
there is also the implied value of every product Genedrive has this adds to a considerable amount.
it is possible that they would just buy the cd-19 test (though i think this unlikely)

I agree with you there Technick. after initial wave of sales would be the time an offer for Genedrive as a whole would come.
It makes sense for Danaher to buy out Genedrive. It would also make sense of the way DB and the board have gone about this whole process. I believe there has been a plan and we are entering a very important month for the company.

Antony if the vaccine and its a huge IF the vaccine works half the world wont take it because it was made in Russia and it will still be a year and a half away before WHO approve its use.
But far more likely is that Putin needs something positive to promote Mother Russia's response at home and the vaccine which as as others have said has had a trial of 30 people is not quiet what it seams.
I could understand selling (some of your holding as you stated) to use the money else where you see other short term opportunities but if you sold out because Putin says he has a Vaccine well...umm...that would be a bit daft if you ask me (which you weren't).
