If you would like to ask our webinar guest speakers from Blue Whale Growth Fund, Taseko Mines, Kavango Resources and CQS Natural Resources fund a question please submit them here.
Hi Sixnoughts,
My bad, yeh the investors that got a run around I don't know who they were. The guy posted it in the chat and I think the minister direct messaged replied to him but he hadn't seen it. So at the end of the webinar there were time for questions and the guy asked the question again on audio so the minister answered on audio to everyone.
Yeh this was nothing to do with Kefi.
I just posted it because it was such a random webinar, I think there was only about 60 people logged into it when i checked the participants, I think Harry was logged on by his Mrs account so he could see the slides and everyone on the screen but was speaking via his phone. Some quite high profile individuals logged in and speaking, I only got the link or advertisement for it a few days ago so very last minute.
Kefi gave a presentation and a private company did as well.
Well I'm an investor and the project figures really stack up but unfortunately Harry gives us all the run around and dilutes us to hell. Empty promises, the master kicking the can down the road when it comes to this funding from the government or private equity.
Excelencies, Greetings. We have been in Ethiopia several times with an interest in mining in Ethiopia. We have several mine sites in West Africa and have been operating for over 30 years. We were recommended by the ministry to work with an Individual named Elias Teklu (an Australian Citizen) who told me personally the Minister (H.E. Dr. Samuel Urkato) was his uncle and he could assist us in our investments. Once engagement my team and I were very dissatisfied with his dealings, he was unprofessional, unreasonable and left us stranded numerous times while we were out on site and later learnt he was high on illicit drugs. Due to our experience we abruptly aborted our trip and headed back to Australia. We did our investigation and discovered Mr Teklu had several aliases which included Steven Ahmed and Elias Ahmed. What is the Ministry doing and is going to do to protect foreign investors from such instances, which discourage investors?
Just listening to the Conference Call, Harry phoned in, mumbled and bumbled on.
Only nugget of info was Government Investment of $20 million Dollars its happening.
Any well versed investor know if this is accurate what we are expecting?
He didn't mention the private equity investment.
My biggest worry is funding, death spiral funding again for the next 6 months until ANS money received.
We don't know what money is left in the kitty for running costs.
Why a Webinar at 3pm on a Friday, nothing new to report.
Why is he in London for it.....................can only be funding surely, stock price at just over 1p says it all.
Then we get smashed on Monday morning.
He can say what he likes, Coronavirus, Elections Ethiopia, whatever..........................
WOW, We get more detailed information from a media outlet than our own Chairman.
He just constantly lies, kicking the can down the road.
So we have another 7 months until possible funding via a raffle, so we need cash for running costs until then.
I expect another fund raise.
Hi EthioEthio,
If you are referring to the 17 February 2020 on the website,
KEFI Minerals plc ("KEFI" or the "Company") TKGM General Meeting Approves All Resolutions
It just reeds waffle, look at the wording, if you read it a few times it just doesn't give any timeline or concrete process of events.
All I get from it is 6 months.
Lets fast forward to 6 months down the line, elections in Ethiopia, everything stops, political changes, unrest, its open for another delay for whatever reason, in the meantime we have costs, expenses how will we pay for this....................
For the record I'm fully invested, but this interview comes across that we have to wait another 6 months for funding.
Quote 'Government partners starts spending their money shortly, imminently.......................'
Quote 'Banks do their final close after Ethiopian Elections' .......Whatever that means..........(29th August Ethiopian elections)
Just kicking the can down the road for whatever reason, again, this is ridiculous, while the Gold price is booming.
I will wait it out but just have to manage expectations.
I’ve dialled in and it says it hasn’t started yet?
Is that same for others?
It’s been 30 mins
Just some music and an American/Canadian whelk telling me to please enjoy the music until other participants join.
What an absolute shower of ****e!

Interesting to see Coca Cola investing in Ethiopia, expansion and investment expected soon.
So if these guys have done their due diligence, key word is soon obviously.
A great endorsement, new factory just outside the capital potentially being built, first phase $70 million.
This is a great article I found, http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?code=cotn:GFM.L&display=discussion&id=4326941&action=detail So with Spitfire successfully renewing their licence I believe that a possible JV is in the mix as the project is back on being economically viable and having the technology to solve the environmental issues. The reason they were sat doing nothing for 3 years was due to oil price crash in 2009 recovering.
The technology to extract oil from coal has been used since WWII. The Germans did it. Also, the fuel is being used in Germany today and many other countries, South Africa for example. Profitability is not an issue, it is a very viable fuel source and very profitable. However, the issue is the environment. The current process of extracting oil from brown coal is more damaging to the environment than burning oil. So the technological developments is focusing on how to reduce the negative impact on the environment. China is looking at it,, Japan, US, India and Pakistan.
Like Gus18 is suggesting, possibly a pump and dump.
http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/newsdesk/energy/news/back-black-how-germany-poland-and-swedish-state-owned-firm-are-turning-towards-brown-coal http://www.dw.de/lignite-still-germanys-primary-energy-source/a-16854175 Ok, from the above articles lignite or soft brown coal is becoming increasingly more profitable. Although damaging for the environment it is still heavily used in Germany for instance and plans to continue to 2050. I also read articles about 90 million being invested by Australia government building plants for research. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Advanced_Lignite_Demonstration_Program So if Spitfire are sat on a huge brown coal site in Australia maybe it is now viable to go into a JV to develop the licence area. Anyone find any research on rumours of a JV?
