The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
that's to say - what he thinks ist worth to himself, his fellow directors, his employees, and those annoying private Investors.
As a non-holder may I say that was a very interesting post from CBS! It gives people looking to possibly buy in one idea at least as to a possible entry point.....and a good one too! in the comfortable knowledge we can all wait happily without the stress of holding and only buy after the PFS...….. AND in the knowledge, too, that we can take our time about getting in, with little risk of missing the ship. There was never any risk of missing this boat anyway, the speed it goes you could swim out to it and catch it up half a day after it's left port.
Ultimately, the company is only worth what Mr Zorbas thinks it's worth.
came to light LOL
As if you had nothing to do with that! LOL
LoL that was quite a good post, trout - enjoyed it.
Now wave a magic wand and make the share price go up.
As an aside and the last post of the evening, of course it's true that if you've the patience of Job you could well end up a very big winner here. It's about the timing! G
You just dig a deeper hole for yourself, JS, with every post! Of course the company's Australian! - it's got an Australian BoD. I won't add "you fool" or any other foolish term of abuse, just so as to show you that that's possible. Is simpleton a term of abuse? If not, then I'll describe you as a simpleton, how's that?
Honestly, do you really think that because the auditors are based in the UK and the company's registered on AIM, that that makes MRS an English company???!!! (And don't give me British, ol chap, to all intents and purposes it's exactly the same thing, as even you should know)
What's the difference between a cretin and a moron, JS? I'm looking for an insider's view here.
Just read it, GB.
Wow. I hadn't seen it before, and you've certainly moved the goalposts with that one. Was that one of your ironic remarks about me giving the impression I'd been to Siberia? If it was, then I can confirm I haven't (been there), nor have I ever even been to Russia - although I can read Russian with the help of a dictionary, even worked as a translator from Russian many years ago, legal and financial texts mostly. The people of Siberia sound wonderful and you clearly had a great experience. Sorry if you found my post offensive; however, this is an LSE financial chat board forum and the focus has to rightly be on the company's relationship with its shareholders who've lent their money to the BoD in order to make a greater return. And reading this bb, it's clear that most long termers think he's taken far longer than the history of RNSs - and the wording in those RNSs - gave them to believe.
Tbh GB33 I do only use this AMC bb as a Vehicle for a bit of light relief, I think I'm quite transparent about that and have stated already that I'm not a holder here. I don't think the AMC BoD have treated PIs very well - there are many people here who have lost vast sums over the last few years, my losses were small compared to some, but I like my fun, I didn't really see your question mark, and wasn't having a go at you personally - how could I, not knowing you, this is an anonymous chat board freely open to every Tom Dick and Harry, every Greenhills and every GB33. 6th October? I'll take a look now.
Nice one - or not, depending on your stance here. Either someone taking the p*ss by getting in 15 seconds before close……...or else just desperate to get out.
Wasn't it the momentum engendered by TB and NB that took us to 10p, yes I think so. The focus had been on those two and Z had faded from being the focus of attention. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out i.e. whether it is just a delay or something more sinister; but the legacy of MRS and all the rottenness-to-the-core of it weighs heavy.
Meanwhile back in the Sanatorium, there are still voices making strange sounds and noises along the lines of other stocks are also waiting for a new Nomad, and so MRS is no different. Of course MRS is different! It's a different company from the others; it's not a branch or offshoot of all the other companies looking for a Nomad!!! Some people on here don't seem to understand that, or for reasons only known to themselves don't seem to want to acknowledge it.
JS - I have a question for you - MRS is Australian, right? So: Are all the other companies waiting for a Nomad Australian?
It was like when I was waiting for the bus the other day and I asked someone next to me when it was coming. Well, he said, I was expecting it'd have been here by now. Another person said "Oh no, I have a timeline of about 25 years, you see the local council have just thought of a better way to make them go faster, by making them bend round corners a bit more, but they've first got to put a boiler in on the bus, it works a bit like a smelter you know, makes the wheels turn faster." "Still, said another potential bus customer, "I do wish it would come quickly, I've already been waiting here 16 years and this bird came up and told me it'd only be another nine months, oooo my eyes lit up at the sound of months, but then the Robin who told me said "No, not nine months u i-diot, 90 months, I can't be held accountable for potential bus customers who can't interpret birds_hit."
A real corker that one! Thank you!!!
It's already been addressed, o&t, I hold three other shares which are waiting, but it's the circumstantial evidence here with MRS with ist legacy of corruption and ensuing Suspension that engenders the mistrust. I hope the ongoing poor and contradictory communications from the BoD and the therefore reasonably founded mistrust prove to be of no importance.
Nice to hear I've annoyed you, Austin, you didn't have to tell me you've filtered me, you know!
imminent.
17 business days including this one left in which the Rns MUST come. If it doesn't, then that's it folks.
Peeps with v large holdings and who can still think clearly and who are not drugged by medicines - it may be worth considering reducing your holding as we approach deadline D-Day.
"It quite often mentions….." was the giveaway, trout! So! You often take medicines, old chap? Now I realise why you're going to be so cool and composed waiting for the Nomad RNS on the day before deadline day! LOL g
I smiled to myself at your latest missive trout, as the fact is I can't remember when I last bought an off the shelf medicine.
I'm always pleased to learn new things though from people who know about such things.
Good post imo Spider, the poor communication from the BoD lies at the heart of all the problems. Most posters on here don't seem to care about that. I and one or two others besides yourself have attempted to raise it as an issue, but it never produces a wider general outcry that might apply enough pressure to make the BoD start replying. The problem with the prev BoD was they thought they could ride roughshod over PIs, and would've got away with daylight robbery had it not been for smudgedan and others back then. (Re smudge's apparent trading of MRS, he probably should in fact be entitled to do anything he pleases with his holding for reasons of the above, and it's good to know people like him are still around here, in case the present and currently just non-communicative BoD ("just" as that's at present all we can say about them for certain) do try something not in holders' interests i.e. more communicative like a kick in the groin).
Spider - so does that mean the regulation is as loose as on Aim? I doubt it! And that was the point!
Why the HL letter then? Don't tell me that was standard, as a few of my other holdings are in the same situation and I didn't get a letter for those.
If Zorbas and the MRS BoD do have a hidden agenda for taking us off Aim, then it's reasonable to assume they're planning something more devilish re Aim shareholders.
I'm just trying to find answers…...they'll be others out there who'll be wondering the same.
