The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Just to introduce a note of realism, the last interim report referred to the plant making a profit but the company still making losses. This because of tightening margins triggered by supply costs rising. There will never be enough corn in the US to hit the new targets Bush announced yesterday. Alternative 'feedstocks' will be needed. GTL still seems undervalued in the market compared to other US producers and therein lies the opportunity.
The presidents speech was probably as influential as the production announcement. Roll on the first quarter statement.
However, the largest number of competitors appear to be in Illinois already, not Indiana and Tennessee!
As I said earlier, they are setting up in Indiana and Tennessee. Definitely a competitor.
I would think it is good. It heightens the credibility of the likes of GTL if Virgin are taking a punt on it. Virgin/NTR are investing in Indiana and Tennessee with 100 million output in each site.
News just broke in Dublin that Virgin and NTR, a Dublin based alternastive energy and toll company are to invest 300 million Euro in new renewable energy plants in US mid-west.
Furthermore, until the US investors wake up as our US contributors are trying to promote it may take a while yet.
Seems to me that most share prices are affected by profits more than anything else. Especially if they are bumper figures.
Good to see the tone has calmed down and that some issues have been resolved. Happy Christmas and PROSPEROUS New Year to one and all.
The announcement that Richard Reube CEO of the US operation has been allocated over 67,000 share options at 225 pence is encouraging.
I have also sent a message to Floyd Schultz, President of Illinois River Energy to the same effect. Lets see what happens.
I have sent a mail message to David Larkham of Arden Partners who recommended this share as a BUY in January last seeking their opinion op the controversy.
My conversion was handled by Sharewatch without any fuss at all. I dislike this forum being used for personal abuse. I would suggest that abuse is a poor substitute for cogent and reasoned arguement. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and also to express it without personal attacks. I would suggest to those being abused not to respond in kind and those continuing to abuse to find another forum. All this debate on GTLRF is, however, very disconcerting. If anyone can definitively sort it out the rest of us would be most grateful.
Well spotted Professor! I note what others are saying about a fall but the size of the deals is serious stuff. I will sell to recoup my investment and then sit. Only have 2k but what the heck.
Now that's what I call profit takers!!!
Sorry to hear GedW is leaving the circle on this one. Many thanks for all the advice, particularly on Renesola and other shares. I still look forward to your4 comments on the other shares.
Serious buying this morning and yesterday at 0.075 Euro. Looked on as a recovery stock now that major cost savings are being realised.
The document stated a price of 1 pound per share which is a consolidation of the price as well as the shares. Sorry for the delay in responding USEshareholder. In Spain for 3 weeks. Yippee!
Annual General Meeting. I'm in Ireland so I'm not going but I sent in my proxy vote. I always do! Optimist me!
Profit takers may emerge again so don't build up too much hope for Monday. However, amer is right, hold on for the longer term.
