No idea why this has happened except for maybe market makers driving it down. The target for production is 2009 so this share is a long bet but the valuation is extremely low if the drilling findings are correct.
They seem to be happy to pay 1.25 for these shares. Presumably they expect them to rise in the future. I seem to be the only contributor to this thread. Is there any one else out there with ideas on this share?
Extraordinary resistance of the share price in the face of massive selling this morning.
A move to dollar denominated shares would not be attractive to UK and Euroland shareholders as it would expose them to currency risks. However, SIT's biggest market is the US and they must serve their own best interests.
What a canny lot they must be at Oak Holdings. 1 million for 27 acres forming part of the main entrance to a 350 million development. Anywhere else the cost would have been 20 or 30 times that amount.
Sorry campers, I am mixing up my comments. The reference to the well was for Petroneft.
Another bloody correction! In spite of this there are more takers than givers this morning. There are about 60 more days to the completion of the new well.
The latest run on these shares was interrupted by the 'correction' last week and appears to be resuming now.
The sale of 10 million shares yesterday has not dented interest. Today's buys are big and moving upward. Maybe womblemaster is right about a take-over!
Another run developing on AFD? Medium to long term prospect have staggering potential.
2.5 million purchased yesterday! Serious interest at last.
I was away for this profit taking dip and missed out on it. Ah well! I think there will be other opportunities.
I hope you did enough research to have at least gotton in on AFD early this week. Even IOG has shown steady growth.
Interesting perspective from Peter Middelton in interview posted on GTL website 14/2/2007.
Last Sept., Westmind, a Canadian broker specialising in mining said the AK6 project was large tonnage, high-value diamond, low-cost operating environment. Quote from FT article.
Have put my money where my mouth is and got another 3000 shares. I may go for more when circumstances permit. This is a medium term investment as the mine will not start producing until 2009
Hey GedW have you noticed these big buys for AFD. My info came froma a Dublin source so it would not surprise me if the trades were originating there. How is your research going?
Botswana development has enormous potential. De Beers are deeply involved and only interested in developing fields with high yield. Could be a big number bagger.
I agree with taking out original cost if you can. Did it last year and its all profit from now on.
Impressed with a 5 year holding in GTL by DocLew. I am a johnny come lately and have yet to see a profit on paper on GTL but I am in for the long haul. ChicagtoBoy and USAShareholder I also find instructive in spite of their problems with GTLRF. This dispute seems to have quietened down so maybe the doubts have been resolved.
