Current Ore Breakdown at Escondida
The mine processes different types of material based on their copper content and mineralogy:
Concentrator Feed: High-grade sulfide ore averaging 0.82% copper.
Sulphide Leach: Lower-grade ore averaging roughly 0.42% copper, which is processed using leaching technology rather than traditional milling.
Total Resources: The remaining massive resource of 26 billion tonnes has a total average grade of 0.53% copper.
Comparison with Taseko's Canadian Operations
For context, Taseko also operates the Gibraltar Mine in British Columbia, Canada. The extraction grades there are slightly lower than the Arizona project:
2025 Average Head Grade: Approximately 0.22% copper.
Recent Performance: For the fourth quarter of 2025, the head grade at Gibraltar increased to 0.26% as mining moved into the Connector pit.
"The selling of the small amount of the LWP.. TO ME was a total red herring." But it still happened ...not supposedly, you fool. And they are still carting the initial 10 million tonnes away... amounting to several hundred thousand truckloads.
"The project incorporates data generated from both in-house test work as well as the ore assays generated from the reclamation of material under the 10Mt trading agreement executed in CY2025 for a consideration of US$6.75 million. Truckloads are reclaimed and assayed continuously, with Jubilee benefiting from the data generated and assays completed on the material
It is expected that near-final designs for the project will be completed by the end of Q3 FY2026
Jubilee has agreed with a potential project partner to commence with a large scale trial on the stockpiles and tailings to confirm final proposed commercial terms. The trial is expected to be concluded during Q3 FY2026." https://jubileemetalsgroup.com/copper/
