RE: Who Is The Investor29 May 2026 08:57
Like it or not, HNWs that want to "buy" in to an investment opportunity don't like, and feel because of the money they bring that they deserve, to be treated preferentially and not be subject to buying in the open market. Of course, we all disagree with this because, day to day, that is the way the share price normally increases. HOWEVER, such people, in bringing money and their backing to a business, will increase the credibility and the balance sheet of the business and therefore its investability... and this too will drive up the share price indirectly AND accelerate progress through the extra funds. It DOES NOT mean that the company is desperate for money and about to run out of working capital having spent all of the cash raised from SA; it DOES mean that the probably vast resources we own have attracted the attention of someone long in the tooth of mining with a demonstrable track record of developing said resources and that can ONLY be looked at as a very positive development, at a time when current investors cannot see the wood for the trees because of the history of developments. I would never normally do this for simple confidentiality but in the circumstances I hope he will forgive me, but as soon as I saw the RNS yesterday I emailed the FD to challenge why this is happening, given that the RNS was badly written, and talked of "securing" funds which makes it sound as though we desperately needed them. Here is the verbatim extract from his immediate reply:
"I am afraid that you may have got the wrong end of the stick on the RNS. A well- known mining investor, with deep pockets, has asked us to issue him shares rather than him buying in the market. He is very excited about the Molefe mine region and has indicated he want to become a significant investor in Jubilee, alongside other sophisticated institutional investors. I can’t give you the investor’s name as their holding is less than 3% at present. This would normally be seen as a good thing..... Buy backs/ dividends are still on the cards and have not been de-railed by the announcement of a new investor."
I then replied making the point about HNWs not buying in the market being inequitable to small investors, which so often happens, but have yet to receive a response to that.
But the fact remains, all of you who are spreading muck, conjuring doom and fabricating lies can now all get back into your little boxes and shut up. Like a mob of hooligans, you have collectively spun a good news story into one of supposed disaster. If you don't believe me, email the company yourself! And if you don't believe them, sell up and LEAVE this site, instead as some here do, hang around poisoning the atmosphere when they have no skin in the game.
