I'm afraid reading many of the comments there are many people buying stocks who might be better advised buying funds. Scottish Mortgage has good exposure to global high growth risk.

Buys being shown as sells ... that last 1,000,000 was a buy ...

MMs do not buy and hold stock ... their business is to make a market through "encouraging" trading. So they drop the price to frighten the herd into selling...or they push, and sometimes gap, it up to get buying. They don't care which way it goes...or who gets shaken out or spiked...its all part of the business of making a market. Its all about liquidity ....

If other shares are shorted the value of yours will still fall I am afraid, Haggis....even if they are in your drawers ... ;)

Haggis ... The average trade value between 8:00 and 16:00 was £2,640. The largest trade today was £136K. Not exactly mind blowing values....?

Volume on the way up hasn't been enormous so I wouldn't be surprised to see the first gap filled at 66p.

There is moderation ... then there is censorship, Looed. The former is to keep an orderly house; the latter to control opinion. One of them is dangerous.

I recall saying that when I bought my first tranche for 70p all those years ago .... the board is incompetent.

The MMs love to frighten the horses by amplifying any volatility in the markets... And the FTSE is off 3%... That JLP is not exposed to the UK economy goes over the heads of panicking punters...

Without doing too much research on SBSW I would highlight two points: First, it is a miner with all of the inherent risks and costs associated with that; Jubilee is not. Second they are already one of the largest Gold and Platinum producers in the world and I would be amazed if they have the growth potential that JLP has. Maybe you would like to counter those points to encourage me to dig deeper? ;)

Be great if we just sold something..... ? Having paid over 40p for stock in the past, some pay back for the years of torture that has been QFI, would be very much appreciated!!
