Couldn't really flatten Kiev anyways as the Ukrainians are not letting civilians leave as civilian casualties are there only protection from Russian artillery that's why they station troops in hospitals and schools. Russians are reluctant to hit them. Longer it goes on the less the civilians support the defenders though.

I definitely think Ukraine has lost all lands east of the Dnieper.
Russia probably wants Odessa too as historically its a Russian speaking area.

Ukraine and Nato will have to negotiate Kiev back and I think the Russians will happily give them it if demands are met. At least the side west of the river.

Anyone really think the Democrats want to go into the mid terms in November with $5 a gallon gas. They'll want that to be a distant memory by then or they'll get wiped. This will be forgotten about by June.

If Polymetal are smart they don't day the dividend and use the money to buy Kupol from Kinross. Lets Kinross exit the Russia market and Poly get one of the best mines in the world at a steep discount.

Thought I was missing something with the stock valuation but the fact no one can set me right and point to something obvious tells me you're all risking being wiped out for a measly 3x at best.

If i'm going to risk capital going to zero through a UK delisting or Russia asset seizure there need to be high possible reward and I don't see much here. Like Doug Casey says "Most mining stocks are crap" certainly seems this falls under that banner on current valuations. I wish you all luck on your possible 3 bagger.

It looks more pricey than poly but is there less political risk or something I'm missing?

What exactly is an Oligarch? Is the Queen an English oligarch and Elon Musk a South African oligarch?

Add to that list Marriot, Hilton and Holiday inn. All have Russian assets. Would need to delist them also or force them to sell there assets at a huge discount.

Or alternatively, if the government goes after companies that have Russian shareholders then watch for the capital flight. You think anyone would want to own shares via a US/EU exchange when they can freeze your assets purely because of nationality? Watch the Arabs and Chinese start to liquidate anything the west can freeze. The west is very close to the point of undermining its own capital markets and verging on Banana Republic territory. The days of foreign companies listing on western exchanges is probably over.

Kinross would also need to be delisted also. It has major assets in Russia. Still trading on the NYSE.

They'll likely just float the Russian McDonalds on the Moex exchange as McDanilovs once it opens back up. It's not as if the beef is some secret recipe or something.

On day 3 all western media released pics of Zelensky in a helmet and camo from 2014 while he drank a cappuccino in the US embassy in Warsaw. Probably fly him in to the safe cities in the west of Ukraine for a few photos now and again but he's not even a leader in exile as Nato and US are in the driver's seat. They just tell Zelensky what to say for the camera.
