If businesses close down and its down to government policy and not actual cases within the business,would hiscox be liable,and even if there were cases within the business the insurer would argue whether there were sufficient cases to bring a closure or whether there were enough staff to keep it going as fear alone is probably not enough of a reason to shut a business.

If the closure is down to government policy and not actual cases of covid forcing the business to close then is hiscox liable?
I can see a court case coming from this to sort it out.

Its all down to the wording of the contract,to my untrained eye its seems like Hiscox could be in alot of trouble over this.

I use Hargreaves lansdowne which shows 31 billion revenue for Aviva and 15 billion for lgen.

To add further clarity PRA is part of Bank of England and not Prudential as far as I now understand.

Ok lets start with little,Lgen statistically almost half of Aviva in every sense eps,profit,dividend,nav .
Now lets go to confused myself and maybe other Aviva investors,why is a company of half the proportion valued at 12.7billion pounds whilst large(Aviva) is valued at just 10.4 billion pounds???

The director share transactions of a couple of weeks ago,were they share bonuses?

Cough were those the shares allocated to the board a couple of weeks ago at a time when aviva declared they were still intending to pay final dividends?

What upsets most investors of Aviva is that the board will still take their bonuses at a time when they have frozen dividend payments.

Investors are being denied the right to buy reinvest dividend at a time when the markets are much lower.
If this all turns out to be a storm in a teacup,does this open the way for litigation against those that froze the dividends?

Pressure has been put on the Insurance industry without a doubt,look at the timing of four Insurance companies postponing on the same day.
Wording is key,lgen stated in its rns 3rd April"its current intention" to pay dividend .
Bearing in mind Nav of 157p compared to Avivas Nav of 357p Dec 2019,Lgen is definitely acting in a maverick style to the regulators wishes at present,but the question is if it doesn't back down will the regulators powers over dividends be strengthened,something the rest of banking and insurance has clearly demonstrated it is keen to deter.

Alot of cheap shares around at present,I think we could end up with a very quick recovery in the markets.

A few weeks ago came out of aviva went into lgen then switched back later when aviva looked better value.
Ended up with 13% more Aviva shares.
Will be happy if I can finish the year at 430p plus dividend.

Anything other than Aviva take to the lloyds board,lets cleanse this board of claptrap.

To be honest I really haven't seen any negatives to investing in Aviva,have seen nothing to cause any concern with current leadership in fact so far quite impressed with it.
I still think Avivas a slightly stronger company than lgen with more impressive eps growth,a higher dividend % and a lower pe ratio.
But having said that if I wasn't in Aviva then I would probably be in lgen or rdsb.
