I think the potential for OCDO is the same as Facebook, no-one could really see the potential straight away for the ridiculous share price with little or no assets and no profit/loss account or Dividends, but I think looking into the future of shopping there will be more high street closures as more and more businesses that can survive online do so.
With OCDO you are buying into that Idea, maybe not in the shorterm, but certainly in the future.
Still buying newspapers are we? getting milk delivered?
Changing times, this pandemic has just accelerated things!
Hi CUFC,
The share will go XD on the 25th March, which means you can sell them and still get the dividend (assuming you held the shares on the 24th), normally and I say normally the share price will go down on XD day by about the same percentage as the dividend (10.4 final 1.6 special = which is 12Cents ) American listed share which is about 7.5p/share, I held these shares about 10 years ago (have them now as well) and on XD day they actually went up, which was rather strange, normally they go down, as the money being returned to shareholders as dividend is no longer on the books for the company.
If you want to get the divi and the best price sometimes if you are quick at 8.00am and a couple of seconds you can trade it and not lose the full percentage.
Hope this helps
elliot846 - amazing I filtered out Oracle1953 and the share price went up...………… you all know what you need to do now!

Anyone like to guess at how low the DJIA will open up at?
Read someone's post about selling first thing this morning, to buy back later, as the FTSE250 was a lot down and these shares were up well, I got out at 84.45 and thought I'd get back in late 70's if I could, every time I refreshed my order it was going down, so I settled at about 75.1 and ended up with some cash and 1000 more shares, and within an hour it's almost back up to the late 70's, hopefully it will pull back more as we get past 1pm.
Cars Coffee, Yes I did take the RI shares so am only need a £1 to break even, I mistakenly bought shares in Football club I support in the early 00's only to see Abramovich sweep in a steal them without a profit.
P.S don't buy shares in a car brand you own either!
I did, I have invented my own Furlough scheme from my LTD company, in other words I used the money to buy shares at 38.65p so have averaged down a bit, this is now an opportunity to make a better profit than before, I had LLoyds shares when they were at 32p in 2008 and then sold at £1, think they are close to 32p again, I'll pay back the money to my Ltd company some day maybe! need £1 to break even, then I'm in profit! What a game.
Not posted on here for a while, but looking at the past 'crash' which was fundamentally a banking/liquidity issue brought on by an American housing crisis, this affected the whole market, practically all the shares across the board were affected, who remembers HBOS shares which LLoyds agreed to buy at 1.80/share were trading at 1.50/share, a no brainer to buy , they then re-tracted their offer to 1.20/share instant profit to Loss. My point is that NOT all the shares have been affected by this crisis , I work for a Defence contractor who's share are doing well, Food industry, Ocado and health/Pharmaceuticals all doing well, not sure about you but I haven't seen many 20 plate cars out there, because no-one has taken delivery/purchasing them at the minute, when this all blows over a few months from now I can see this share way past £1, and yes I do have shares at £4.50+, pre_xmas purchase, so am holding on for the next few years!
I wouldn't be surprised to see these shares go up tomorrow, as I'd held 888 several times, and when the went XD, the price went up on that day instead of down, if I remember rightly the share price on the day before XD, either was flat or went down a couple of %
I blooming hope so as I bought in at 17.22, if I get caught I will have suffered on both sides, had a PLUS500 trading account on cryto's, doubled my money in a week, then was crying in my beer the following week.
GLA who are in this share
Sadly, like all news paper shares, they are coming to an end, had these several years ago when they were 30p/share and trinity mirror when they were £1.80, the internet has killed these off, just like Yell and all the rest.
It's the electronic revolution, and you just can't stop it, honestly when was the last time you bought a paper, the younger generation just don't buy them, just like having milk delivered, just nostalgia I'm afraid. GLA you'll need it
Ex-Dividend TODAY, if you sell today you still get your dividend..........hence drop of approximately the dividend.(-3.57%) http://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/8/888-holdings-ordinary-0.5p
