...as I am with today's confirmation of first gas, I am hardly surprised by the markets reaction.
It seems that whenever the slightest whiff of bad news appears, the SP tanks, then takes a while to recover, no matter how good the news!
Logic would dictate that any company that had started producing a much sought after and highly valued commodity, would see a fair increase when the news was announced. Not at IOG!
I have no clue as to why this is, but it is. Seems we have to live with it.

Backgassing is a basic step to 'Prime' the system prior to starting the flow from the well. Any issues would be identified and corrected and, all being in order, the flow would be reversed and gas will flow to Bacton.
Most process industries use backfilling as a way to prime systems and it is carried out day in day out. Of course there can be issues, but they have generally been ironed out already. Any leaks, pump failures or faulty valves would have been identified by now and dealt with.
Think of it as a plumber refilling your central heating system.

You should know by now that IOG 'estimates' are just that and have been missed on many occasions over the years.
However, with the bad luck we've endured on this project, let's all keep our fingers crossed for a positive run up to first gas by Friday PM.
