Tullow should be in the 70s right now, back in June when Brent was in the 70s, Tullow was mid 60s and BP was around 330, now Brent mid 80s and BP up another 10% to around 365 yet were down 20% from June’s price, hoping from next week the catch up to the correct value occurs

Current downwards trend is due to market jitters surrounding the break down of OPEC talks, worldwide COVID cases starting to rise again, and also a stronger dollar and inflation worries.

Knowing when to sell is very hard to judge, many times on other shares I have got my fingers burnt by setting the sell price target too high, I’ve watched the price of these shares come close before crashing back down again and then into a loss. I don’t think Tullow will reach £2 again in the long term due to declining reserves and asset sales (but I may be wrong as usual) unless they ramped up exploration activities and made some significant oil discoveries, I think £1 plus towards the end of the year/early next year is likely. Many external influences are out of Tullows hand such as COVID, opec etc ... who knows?

My situation is similar to yours. I agreed a sale on my home first week after first lockdown and completed in august for what the house was worth..currently living at in laws. I put 30k into tlw in the late teens and added as price rose. Tlw has made me back all my poor 45k investment losses over the years and I am currently up around 60k on top of that. Problem is house prices have become hyper inflated where I live and people asking 30 percent more for family homes than what they were in 2019 before pandemic. So as it stands I’m no better of than if I bought a home at the start of this mess. I’m letting this run till around 75p then putting proceeds into BP for a slow stable rise. The gamble only pays off for me if house prices go back to what they should be and people stop being silly massively over paying for houses to save a fraction of it on stamp duty. People overpaying need to remember these mortgages need paying back and they can kiss good by to a reasonable retirement age.

Waiting for updates is getting abit frustrating I must say.. There’s been no update regarding receipt of the FID payment from TOTAL, which was due earlier in the month, the 2022 bonds have been redeemed as disappeared from the bond market 2 days ago. The wells must be nearing completion, Q1 update was in April last year.. come on Tullow, update us with something positive ????

I blame Europe for this carnage over the past week, faffing around with vaccine approvals etc and damaging Astra zenicca confidence allowing Covid to take root again. COVID is exploding in europe which accounts for 10% of world population. India, turkey, and Brazil seeing large spike in cases, gunna be difficult few weeks on the oil market unfortunately..

The Saudi wealth fund has invested heavily in multi national oil majors, if they manipulate oil prices upwards through OPEC restrictions, they cash in on the rise in value of these shares bought at the same time preserving their own reserves in Saudi Arabia for when oil demand recovers albeit at a higher price. Cashing in both ways.

These attacks remind me of story line of James bonds casino royal. These rebels are likely shorting Saudi Aramco stock as well buying shares in other oil majors, then cash in on the oil price spike and the dip in Saudi Aramco after attack which disrupts production.

The share price is pretty stable considering the large drop in oil prices over the past couple of days which seems to have stabilised for now, the current oil price is similar to 2019 levels so currently not a worry at the moment so long as it doesn’t continue to drift lower, on a positive note we will have a solid footing to leg up when oil prices and vaccine sentiment turn positive.
Hopefully Uganda FID will get pushed through next week, which is another important part of the plan.

Worry’s over escalating COVID cases in Europe scaring the market.. European leaders can’t organise a p#ss up in a brewery. They have trashed their vaccine rollout and jeopardising other countries roll out with their meddling and export restrictions, and also scaring individuals in other countries about receiving the Oxford jabs..

Well that’s a unfortunate birthday present for me today... guess this may also explains some of yesterday’s drop..

I thing some of this drop is related to Africa suspending investment into the oil sector, which may jeopardise the £75m FID payment from TOTAL.

I think this is going to reach £1 quicker than some may think. A lot of good news on its way along with high oil prices and high daily volumes should propel this bull run further.. look at the airlines, and whitbread, their share prices are back to around 2019 levels, yet their businesses are barely trading at the moment. A massive bull run taking place across a lot of sectors. Keep holding as you may never see a bull run like this for many years.
