Is Barrick already operating in Cameroon? If they're not they wouldn't sign a deal without permission to buy into the country. There would be red tape first I would have thought? Not saying Barrick wouldn't be up for that but there may be other big players already able to operate in Cameroon no?

I think the message will be well and truly clear to the BOD and I'm confident there are 100% on the case. It's very much a waiting game now as the intention has been set and with the current macro environment EVERYTHING is pointing a better environment for gold in general.

I imagine if there is any sort of delay in JV, it's not because of the opportunity, because that sells itself, it's probably the red tape around navigating the Cameroonian political layer. Does anyone have any insight on challenges to operational entry?

This is interesting. It seems in the East of Cameroon there have been examples of unscrupulous mining companies smashing, grabbing and leaving before re-establishing a sound ecological environment.

I understand now why Oriole play particular importance to the environment with any of their proposals (and why the entered that competition recently) because any JV partner would need to agree to and prove that they will mine with particular care and attention to the population and the environment. Shows it's not a simple process. But an important one.
