RE: US support8 Sep 2025 13:24
I've been investing in rare earths for nearly 10 years
Before 2025 no western RE project was economical, thats why the share prices of almost every RE company crashed from 2021-2024. Including Altona (which was 5p+ less than a year ago)
Why? because nobody could compete on the global market, China ensured Dominance by subsidising prices and flooding cheap RE's int the market, but at a cost.
What cost? International and domestic security, in 2024 China put in RE export tracing systems, so it could know where all of the RE exports were being sold into, primarily the EU and the USA.
In 2025, once the trade war began, it cut off several RE elements and months later an outright 'ban' took place, by this time China knew exactly where its RE's were going and put a stop to it.
This wasn't trump tariffs, it was plans put in place many years ago.
Imagine you sell milk, for £1 a carton
But china can sell it to your customers for 50p a carton
Your costs are 60p a carton, so you go bust.
But how can china afford to sell it for 50p a carton?
Because it paid its miners 20p for every carton sold, so they could sell it at 50p, cost 60p, but get 20p from the government = 10p profit.
Thats how you control a market.
Trump announced $110KG price floor for ndpr, the primary ingredient in all things AI, green tech and military
And for 10 years
Thus overnight, all these RE projects became economical again, but it didnt stop there
The US has announced over 2 billion for critical mineral projects, and theres more to come.
Apple bought a $500m USD stake in MP materials (aka mountain pass, the US re mine and behemoth US RE company)
Every RE stock is up 200-800% and more, over the last 12 months
But Altona, is down considerably from its highs and up a tiny 45% YTD.
Therefore, with REE's Monte Muambe project in Mozambique, a friendly territory with ties to the US (just announced a mega energy deal) the time is now for REE! Its project has very very promising economics and minerals, with 45000 tonnes of magnet materials in the deposit alone.
There are many ways this can be a big winner, but just on the hottest market outside of gold + its strategic status + announced US interest + recent funding (£851K it should be trading way north of 3p+ and I suspect it will before the end of the month.
