I'm thinking of investing in Tesla. First US stock for me. Can anyone advise on how the tax situation will differ for buying/selling? Will there be much more costs involved than trading a UK stock? Thanks.

It seems a real struggle for it to pass thru 2000 (the old £1) just as it had problems passing 50p six months ago.
Glad to see HSBC upgrade to buy today.

As a committed long term holder, I need to stop checking the share price so often. It's my own fault and it spooks me when it drops like this.
The fundamentals are in place to keep it moving in a positive direction, just need to keep the faith.

It's amazing the difference in the news reporting of these results. Some are putting a negative spin (profit reduction which was entirely expected anyway) others keeping it positive (new models coming and ramping up production).
As long as the stock price keeps going up, I'm happy.

I love this price rise. I'm up 30% which I know is a lot lower than many of you have managed.
I'm trying to learn from my investment decisions last year and just sit back and watch this baby rise and grow instead of selling up far too soon.

Of the ten companies on my watchlist, AML was the only one to turn green today. All the rest were in the red.
Luckily it's AML I'm invested in.
It seems to be bucking the trend and marching on.

In today's paper, Aston Martin is reported being the top riser from yesterday. The two word reason is stated as "Factory progress".

I was regretting not selling at £1 at New Year and buying back in on the drop but I need to be patient for the long term hold.

Yes...finally cracked the £1 barrier. I'm now 15% up since I came on board in June.

My shareholding was rounded down after consolidation. I reckon the fraction was worth £7
Who gets to keep all those fractions because the combined amount must be considerable across all shareholders?
I haven't heard anything about a refund from Halifax iweb so maybe they will be keeping it.

The share charts for AML are all wonky now. You'd think they could have somehow adjusted them to take into account the 20/1.

There is a special place in Hells Fire for the derampers.
I've become very good at spotting them and I quickly hit the filter button.
Often times as just seen here, there are three or four consecutive posts which all show as filtered so are probably posted by the same nasty clown.
