We have known for a while that DSM have a market ready solution for a probiotic with Fruitflow called Cardiocare https://www.biocarecph.com/en_us/product-concepts/metabolic-health.html#:~:text=Selected%20probiotic%20strain%20with%20bile,contributes%20to%20healthy%20blood%20flow.

but the recent study coducted by Atlantia seemed to be focused on Fruitflow as a Prebiotic. "There are many mechanisms available to bring about more diversity in the gut microbiome such as the use of probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics. A prebiotic product is the strategy selected by the Sponsor of this recent study."

Looks like DSM could target the prebiotic market with Fruitflow but who knows :)

Unfortunately, as By Health are the first company (to eat crabs) to submit to SAMR for a new permitted health function claim we have nothing to compare against with regards to timescales.

Hopefully it will take no longer than the times stated earlier for Blue Cap submissions but there has been no indication in the press regarding timescales. Probably because no one knows.
