Just checked to see when I sold my holding last time. It was May 2020, and the SP was £1.62! It was much higher than that at one point.

Cureboy, I am genuinely asking out of curiosity only, so please don't think I'm being confrontational.

Are think the SP could increase 16x from here? That would make it just shy of a tenner per share - which isn't impossible, and there's obviously a lot to cheer about at the moment. Just genuinely curious as to where you got the figure from.

And I'm not selling anytime soon either!

Just interested in people's thoughts on this. Like most, my holding here is at a loss (roughly 40%). I never had a massive amount invested, but TRX is my biggest holding, but I think some of my money would do better in ITM. I'm not thinking of selling my entire holding here, and I do have other investments, which may be more likely to recover. Have any of you done this? It kinda of goes against the grain selling at a loss, but it might work out for the best. (Might also be a terrible idea). Just thought I'd ask - I'd be especially interested from anyone who is invested in ITM too

Well I would love to say that huge trade at the end of yesterday was me topping up. Sadly it wasn't!

I'm hoping for some upward movement before September, but then again I think we all are!

Thought I'd have a little top up at this price. I always hate the idea of averaging up (daft I know), but I've been caught out catching a falling knife before. Still not enough to raise 60k by next year to pay off the mortgage, but the more the bigger the dent, the more achievable early retirement will be.

Wish I'd done the same. With hindsight I should have sold a few months ago, put it into ITM and been much happier.

I don't intend on sitting around doing nothing, but I don't intend on being embroiled in office politics, appraisals, policy changes and quarterly reports any longer than I have to either

I'm glad you saw the light and that leap into early retirement Bilbo. Living off investments isn't doable for me, but I do have a DB pension, and the older I get, the more I appreciate it.

If I can pay my mortgage off early, I can definitely retire early. I could kick myself for not selling my holding in TRX with a small profit and invest it here a few months ago. I can't even top slice, and the other investments I have are smaller. Some of those aren't doing too well either!

Oh I don't doubt that's it's achieveable, especially what happened during lockdown, which is when I would have least expected something like that to happen. I was just curious really, that's all

Jaffjoon - I know you chose £12.50 as a random figure (I sincerely hope you're right), but how long are you thinking of holding for to get there - surely there's something that would make you sell up sooner?

I posted on here the other day about hoping to at least make a huge dent in paying off my mortgage - to pay all of it off would require a SP of around £11 and a miracle, and I don't really believe in those.

Whilst I'm not getting my hopes up about that, I do remember when the SP went mental and shot up to over £6 during lockdown, but I can't remember the reason why, because it happened quite quickly, and I was distracted with other things.

I sold up, (before it got that high), and bought back in at a much lower average a few months ago. Just wish I could buy more. TRX is my biggest holding, and if I wasn't at such a loss I would sell and put it here (I'm about 50% down).

So like I say, I know £12.50 isn't a prediction, I do hope you're right - sooner rather than later!

FWIW - the SP went to over £6 to us mere mortals during lockdown. Typically I sold my entire but small holding just before that, but I still got out with a profit, so can't complain too much. Jumped back in a few months ago, and so far I'm very glad that I did!

I haven't at the moment, and if I do go into profit I'll be tempted to stay, but for that to happen, the SP needs to double before I'm back in the black so to speak

My mortgage is up for renewal next year, and even though TRX is my biggest holding (it's still not massive), I doubt it will pay it off!

Btw, how did you work those numbers out?

I may as well try and work out how well my others shares would need to do

Thanks for the figures everyone. It's up for renewal September '26, and yes it's in an ISA, so there's that.

I'm not really a believer in miracles, but even if I can make a dint in the remainder I'd be happy with that, as I very much we'll get a rate as good as this next year (see comment about miracles).

ITM isn't my biggest holding - that's TRX, and has been for a number of years. I have no faith in this doing well enough to pay it off next year. I haven't even thought about looking at the figures needed for that. That really would be miracle territory!
