Basically I'd be surprised if we weren't in the FTSE 250 come June

By the time it got to Wednesday I was starting to hope it might get to a £ by the end of this week. But then I had a word with myself for getting carried away.

Off the back of today's RNS, I'd be surprised if it went below a £ now. The news this has been too good IMO. I'd actually be more

I seriously need to keep a cool head and stop visiting this thread, but willpower and logic are two things I've always struggled with lol

I'm trying not to get carried away after yesterday (and the run up to it), I'll be honest, it's not easy! Do I see an SP trajectory like RR? Probably not. RR is a well established name with more money behind it. Do I see ITM doing much better than now? Absolutely, I wouldn't be here otherwise. There's an awful lot to be said for volatility, and the situation in Iran certainly isn't getting better. I also think Trump's image of himself as Jesus will rattle our politicians even more (whether it's enough to make a difference remains to be seen). June could be a time where the idea of entering the FTSE250 becomes increasingly likely, but we need a good run at an increased SP first.

Just my opinion, and I think it would be fair to say there are many here who are fair more knowledgeable than I will ever be

I actually think Trump's actions in the Middle East have gone in our favour. That, alongside the war in Ukraine are two major global events which have happened in quick succession. I think politicians are waking up to the fact that part of our national security isn't just about weapons, it's also being less reliant on bad actors.

We shall see

@breakofdawn - if ITM's SP does anywhere near as well as RR's I'll be thrilled to bits (we all will). The name RR itself does have gravitas which will have helped I'm sure, but ITM hit around £7 before , and whilst that was a bit of a freak event, I see no reason why it can't go that far - or even further again

Wookiemonster - I agree with the amounts you state, but as mentioned, I was referring to Google's prediction of £80 by 2030.

Well following yesterday's good news, paying off my mortgage early and retiring early is looking a bit more likely. That said, I think Google's maximum SP prediction for 2030 is a bit pie in the sky, although I do think a significant rise fairly soon is far more likely.

Do we meet the criteria for FTSE 250? It would be nice if we did.

I bet those of you who bought in at a much higher price are feeling a bit more reassured now

@hairydavey I completely agree with you, and there's a lot to be said for volatility. The sooner politicians stop, or at least drastically reduce the need to rely on countries like Russia and also the Middle East, the better for all of us I'm sure

I think when it comes to green energy, most people think of electric cars. Hydrogen isn't really talked about. I also think a lot of people around Europe in particular are tired of relying on oil, but don't really know much about alternatives

I just hope that what's happening in the middle east will give politicians a much needed kick up the backside when it comes to hydrogen. It will probably take time, but I do think the shorts will eventually taper off.

Don't forget the SP went as high as around £7 during lockdown, so it will have to rise by quite a bit for some investors to break even, even if some have been averaging down

@LuckyLaurie - you have completely twisted what I said about SXX in relation to a lighthearted comment that was made about investing. I wasn't comparing the products, or the companies, I pointed out how daft some of their investors were, that's all.

I remember people getting caught out with Sirius minerals by doing that. Some were taking out loans, credit cards, swapping their pensions etc. Fools and money, eh?

Wow, 10 years is a massive commitment!

My mortgage is up for renewal this September. In order to pay it off, I would need the SP to be worth around £3.80. I don't think that will happen, but rather than renew for 5 years like last time, I think I'll renew for 2. That should give it plenty of time!
