This is a great question. Very obviously, I don't have an answer, but in seeking a motive for them to do this, are there not a number of reasons why a company in their position might seek to keep their intentions quiet, at this delicate stage?

Supply of QED fuels is currently restricted (arguably, it may be zero at this precise moment) and will take time to build, given the infrastructure necessary to do so. Shipping companies (and therefore, their customers) are facing potentially huge costs if operators do not adapt to other less environmentally damaging feedstocks and the costs of converting ships, implementing such plans safely etc.

If MSC truly believe that QED's suite of products may be the answer, then surely having successfully tested it, they may want to harness as much supply as we can generate (for as long as it takes us to exceed their requirements) to give them (and their customers) substantial 'first mover' advantages. I also wonder if this advantage is perhaps also underpinned by an agreement with us and Cargill that comes with a price advantage that subsequent buyers of our products may not be able to negotiate with us, and Cargill.

I know chuff all about the world of global shipping other than what I have gleaned from others here, but if the world was watching, and the trials were as successful as we hope, then it is entirely possible that everyone else would rush to secure deals with us, thus levelling the playing field for MSC. If I was in their shoes, and I felt that I could possibly test the product 'beneath the radar' and gain advantage thereafter by securing as much of the supply as I could, then I would certainly try.

I'm afraid that my ignorance means I have no idea if this is possible (given regulatory requirements and so on) or even plausible, but I do operate in a corporate world where many transactions are wrapped in secrecy (always to someone's advantage) and only a court subpoena, or similar will crack the code of secrecy.

Just my musings, as I really don't know, but as I say, its a good question to ponder.

Really, Wonga, where did you hear such great news, or is this just a misquote to suit another agenda?

I have seen a number of posts offering a view that this could be the case, but very clearly stating that it was conjecture and a theory. I am not Chucklebuttocks' biggest fan but you posting this sort of stuff is as bad as all the things that you accuse him of. Call him out on matters posted as fact that are not true, but just stop this sort of nonsense. I thought we were slowly moving away from this but perhaps not. Just filter him, relax and wait for news to drop, whether that be good or bad.

I actually find his theory interesting. I have some serious doubts about whether they are burning MSAR or not, but it keeps the flame alive whilst we wait, and the ringing silence from QED does make me wonder if much more progress has been made, shrink wrapped in an inability to publicise it just yet. I know its a longshot, but sometimes the longshot romps home...who knows, but please can we just stop poking the fire; you know how he reacts?

In summary: 19th May will be a day worthy of celebration because regardless of the trial proceeding or not, this argument and all its related posts will cease.

Words fail me when it comes to posting 'he started it'. That really is straight out of the primary school hand book, chucklebuttocks. I actually appreciate your posts and positive spin, when consumed with a decent pinch of salt, but this bickering is beneath you, and everyone else on this board IMO.

Lets just wait and see for we have no idea of knowing what tomorrow, next week or next month brings, but we all have a feel for what the next few months will bring, and that's all we should be concerned/excited about, again all IMO.

Circumstances, SR....mortgage to pay off, helping my sons to buy their first house, funding enjoyable early years of retirement (if and when I get there), preventing dearest Rachel from getting her grubby mitts on it, etc; I'm sure most on here will have reasons, many of them very different to others, to realise the cash at some point....and for me, thirteen years (or whatever its been) is a very long time to anxiously look for an RNS every morning and not doing so will bring peace!

is it not 100% the company's fault if people can't understand exactly what the update means? Surely, the fundamental reason for an RNS is to communicate, and written communication can be as clear, concise and factual as the author wishes it to be. In this case, perhaps, not very.

Agree entirely Cyberiachas, and I am also guilty as charged. This does, however, leave one other group of investors; those like me, who were not forensic, didn't get out when they should have and have since stuck with it, simply because there is no point in selling at such a loss.

I have lost confidence in anything Colin says, so the latest news is both welcome and little surprising to someone who has simply 'stuck these in the bottom drawer' as they say!

Onwards, with fingers crossed, and for me, a chance to recoup some paper losses before deciding what to do next!

As someone espousing the virtue of doing our own research, I wonder, and would be most grateful, if you could be so kind as to share the research you did to reach this conclusion. I am sure that it would be insightful, especially for those of us who have followed this share for the last ten/fifteen years, and yet still lack the benefit of such clarity. Thank you so much...

Anyway, Quadrise Fuels’ recent agreements with MSC and Cargill are set to change the dynamic (and environmental and financial costs) of marine fuels and decarbonising shipping, power generation and so much more, forever. I wonder if you have seen this or heard about it. Below is a link to a further release about the very latest on the subject, using plant sugars. The level of engine testing already done establishes this as so much more than just a whimsical fantasy; its real and its happening, and the world will soon have a carbon neutral marine fuel, well to wake.

I've just emailed Mike Scott (the author). No idea if he will even read it but the news is just so compelling that it must be worth an email and the few links to recent news and the company website, I have sent him. Nothing really to lose now we have a tangible and so compelling story based upon credible testing from respected sources.

Even if 'wet signatures' are required, lawyers can still document completion of an agreement without the need for a face to face meeting, so it's most likely to be down to the logistics of engrossing all final documents and getting that document in front of the relevant signatory.

This certainly suggests that no further amendments are required, meaning that all parties are happy with all the terms in the document, so everyone will be under pressure to just 'get it done'...happy days ahead....

I didn't listen to all of it. A binding agreement sounds like great news but only if the resulting margin is right. I assume the advantage to MSC is a guaranteed supply at a very acceptable cost (not saying the cost is fixed but i suspect the margin for is may be). Does anyone know how the pricing works or did anyone ask?

Fyoz, if I gave you a rifle and put three targets up and three bullets and you missed them all, your performance would score zero. That is what I believe monkeymo is referring to.

If you miss those targets by far less than you did before because you have mastered how to hold, aim and fire a gun, then that's progress.

Unfortunately, the one way for us to see genuine progress is via whatever the board tells us, and despite previous promises to improve communication, they have failed to perform in this also.

I would not deny that there could just be a really positive update tomorrow, or indeed a significant announcement that explains the preceding silence (the latter being unlikely IMO), so it's not all doom and gloom but I don't believe there can be any denial that, based upon what any of us know, they have missed all targets and failed to communicate any meaningful progress, whatsoever, so their performance has indeed been poor. As for progress, we shall see...

Whatever tomorrow brings, I think its going to be interesting....!

I most certainly will stay in Maddog, (I still believe in the product) but it feels bleak, very bleak, and the trust is gone, with so many false dawns, so I will most certainly be trimming my exposure to QED. Perhaps the more important point is that if they want more money in future, I would need to see absolute certainty and maybe different people controlling the process....and as I see it, that is where the damage is....holed below the waterline...
