What Is National Express Group's Net Debt?
As you can see below, at the end of June 2022, National Express Group had UK£1.30b of debt, up from UK£1.25b a year ago. Click the image for more detail. However, it does have UK£341.9m in cash offsetting this, leading to net debt of about UK£961.6m.

According to the last reported balance sheet, National Express Group had liabilities of UK£1.18b due within 12 months, and liabilities of UK£1.63b due beyond 12 months. Offsetting this, it had UK£341.9m in cash and UK£527.5m in receivables that were due within 12 months. So its liabilities outweigh the sum of its cash and (near-term) receivables by UK£1.94b.

This deficit casts a shadow over the UK£778.6m company, like a colossus towering over mere mortals. So we'd watch its balance sheet closely, without a doubt. After all, National Express Group would likely require a major re-capitalisation if it had to pay its creditors today.

Weak interest cover of 0.33 times and a disturbingly high net debt to EBITDA ratio of 5.1 hit our confidence in National Express Group like a one-two punch to the gut. The debt burden here is substantial.

It sounds like he's underwater in EZJ and IAG as well - all of a sudden it's becoming clear why he's so desperate for boo to hit 25p.. the poor man is broke lol

ASOS has just 100m shares in issue. Managing to progress from a small start up to a global giant without massively increasing shares in issue in the process, is a remarkable achievement. If any company can steer through the current difficulties and emerge strong and well placed for the future, it's ASOS.

The online retailers thrived during lockdown. If covid did take hold again in a big way, the online retailers would be one of the few safe havens for investors. The future isn't just online, online as a whole is the most resistant to future pandemics and lockdowns. Travel on the other hand, is the worst place to be invested.

Oh dear Jtan, the airlines are at the top of the day's biggest fallers. And this is only the beginning!

Jtan, i might buy IAG when it hits 80p, EZJ when it hits £2.25 and NEX when it hits 75p. Note the "when" not "if". The entire travel sector is at serious risk of significant downside right now. History has already proven that what starts in China is unlikely to be contained in China. I would brace yourself if I were you, because travel stocks are at serious risk of heading much, much lower over the coming weeks.

IAG is fast heading sub £1 and EZJ fast heading sub £3. NEX will probably fall below £1 over the coming weeks. I think the travel sector in particular is pretty much screwed in the short to medium term at least, with a high risk of further downside to come.

If you were truly bearish Jtan, this wouldn't even be on your radar. Nobody has plans to buy a stock unless they see significant upside. It isn't possible to on the one hand claim the company is f*cked whilst simultaneously admitting to wanting to buy the stock. What you are is a phoney bear with fake arguments. A bull hiding behind a fake bear outfit. And you expect people to take you seriously?

You're not technically a bear Jtan since you admit to wanting to buy the stock. You're simply an inexperienced investor who's of the belief if he posts enough negative diatribe, he might be able to scaremonger a few holders into selling and help drive down the share price. Right now you should be far more concerned with your travel stocks which are tanking as we speak due to the resurgence of covid in China which is currently threatening to bring down the entire global travel sector.

The online retailers boomed during lockdown, whereas the travel sector were particularly hard hit - hence why travel stocks are plunging this morning on fears what it happening in China could spread across the globe. Jtan is no doubt nervously monitoring the news as we speak lol.
