I have now re-invested in MV...

(Fortunately, as I said, I haven't lost out too much at all - since the US shares I invest in (one in cyber-security, other in computer hardware...) are doing OK.)

I sell my MV shares a few days ago (after a long period) - fed up with volatility and sp falls etc. - and then (macro-economic) circumstances change all of a sudden, and the sp soars!

For me, it's not so bad, as I put the money from that straight away into 2 US shares - which have each gone up a few %...

The question is, whether I should put a modest sum again into MV now... I will consider it.

And why shouldn't I try to work out my approach to any particular share and company by listening to the various viewpoints expressed on a forum such as this? I don't do so uncritically.

I am a member of Stocktwits, and actually recently I have done quite well with one share in particular by weighing up the opinions of various people on that site - of course not taking on board their opinions and 'advice' without thought and questioning. On that site, I have recently had what proved to be good advice about timing my buying and selling of various shares.

I must admit I don't have the expertise to judge how good the trading update was.

I looked at the comments on here after ER by Agricore, Mikemcafee320, Alan_Smith and steph - and their comments sounded balanced to me and made sense, as they judged that it was a fairly good ER, much better than they had feared.

However, I am unable to say any more.

I'm at that moment when I'm thinking, 'I've lost a good deal on this share over time... Generally, I've always stuck with it - believing in its potential - but maybe now I should just cut my losses and run...'

Any thoughts welcome...

Sp down 6% each day since apparently good ER.... puzzling.

I thought the ER was apparently reassuringly good... so surprised now to see sp now down 6.38% today.

Why?!

Imagine if Results had been negative - or even dire - where would sp be then?!

Have I missed something? Has the ER come out? I can't find news of it.

All the recent posts on here have been highly positive - so I am a bit surprised to see sp down 4.17% this morning.

(I know there have been hawkish comments from the FED which have generally negatively affected share prices...)

Sp has just emerged green again!

After it was down 4.4% earlier today...

As I said in previous post, I am having to learn to become inured to such volatility.

I am holding most of my monies in cash, where I can at least guarantee a fair interest return.

A percentage is invested in a few shares, including GROW and SMCI (Super Micro Computer Inc.).

SMCI posts its ER on Nov 1st.

I keep feeling tempted to sell up as the market is bearish now - and then re-invest later on - but then (as the truism goes) who can time the market?

At present I am keeping these stocks - hopefully for the long-term.

The fundamentals of these stocks are (I believe) strong.

The potential is certainly there.

But it is disconcerting - hardly exciting really - to check the sp this morning - and to see it has just declined by 6.28%!!

I am trying to get inured to such volatility...

This is such an incredibly volatile stock - up about 8% the other day, now down 3.67% just now...

This morning I bought a modest share-holding in GROW.

It is a company whose potential I have long believed in.

Over time I have lost really quite a lot investing in this share - but I've decided to go on from here - a fresh start- and see how it goes from here. I still want to be part of this company's promise. I will try not to be swayed too much by inevitable sp volatility... !!
