Hi Volcano - did you see my post back to you over on the SPT board.
Have pulled the pins out of my eyes, finished the self birching and done my 100 lines.
Still that TLW trade for me today was handy
Now up for a chilled weekend then will go again on Monday.
Cheers G
Hi Volcano - Have to admit I missed getting in very early doors this morning - I went for TLW first thing, and spent the next 10 mins trying to get a quote on a TSG buy - but all only got offered negotiated trades. By the time I'd decided to jump into SPT it was off and running so I've missed the boat today.
Still TLW has been kind to me today.
As for SPT - I've stuck pins in my eyes, birched myself and written out 100 lines "I must focus on SPT first" well done to all those that picked these up around 2.30.
Will see where the SP is next week and hope that I can still find a buy in trade prior to the Finals.
G
The news we were waiting for on vein 25 east zone.
Hoping to pick up a chunk early doors this morning.
G
Volcano - similar to you on the jab - 1st one next week and the 2nd booked for the end of May.
LGEN & TATE are also in my long terms - both were picked up back in 2016 as Brexit Brucie bonus offers by the market.
OPEX decision having a positive effect late this afternoon. Glad I put my hands over my ears and ignored the "doomsters" on other bb's earlier this month when I grabbed another chunk of BP. and had another bite at TLW.
Just got to hope my enthusiasm for GSK isn't misplaced.
Still no news on the Airline sale here.
G
Volcano - I'm working 2 pots, my day trade pot, and my long term hold pot.
Often find I wake up hoping for a market retrace, to pick up a bargain, even though that inevitably, impacts on long term holds too.
Still like to keep circa 20% in cash in my account ready to go. Hey often the cash on my trading account has a better day than many of my investments lol.
As they say on sky - "when the fun stops - stop.
G
Castle - I'm still day trading shares beaten up by covid, but deffo looking to pick up positions on longer term holds.
This year I've taken positions in SGE @ an average including the div of £5.63. Got BAE @ £465.67. Have been buying GSK in tranches all the way down from £14 - £12, ( maybe not so clever, but am hoping to trade out some of them on a rise will keep a portion ). Been buying ULVR sub £40, and averaged down on my BP. holding picking up a chunk @ 2.63.
I looked at my watchlist here on this site and see I've got 68 shares on it !! lol, It needs tidying up - many I've now missed the boat, some I put on there, as they were favourites, of posters where I've disagreed in the past ( just checking on their "golden tickets" to see if their punts had credence ).
For me long term div buys:
ULVR / GSK @ today's prices
UU - 8.00 - 8.50
BP - sub 2.70 ( am already holding here - will add )
BAE sub 4.70 ( am already holding here - will add )
NG - circa 8.00 ( am already holding here - will add )
BBOX - sub 1.70 ( am already holding here - will add )
I like AGR - but have turned down 3 chances to get them at 72p in the last 3 months, will deffo get some next time round.
Hey what do I know lol - I have my first jab booked for Tues next week and I had to look up how to get there and it's only 9 miles away !!
No recommendation intended here, just some longer term adds I've picked up and some on my radar. Many will have other ideas and prob. do much better than me. Also I'm 61 now and don't need my money back any time soon, so if my buys look wrong now, in 6 months, or even in a year's time, hopefully sometime this decade they'll look ok, in the meantime I'll take the Div's.

Volcano - US open has taken the FTSE down a little more this afternoon. Maybe not the time to be buying I agree.
I took a look at RTO this morning on its results, could have got around 4.60 but held off, what do you think ?
SPT now sub 2.30, as I type, with the 18th Jan, trading update, surely the Finals will be strong. Going to kick myself if this bounces from here.
G
Ellitelinv - last year the ex div date for SPT was set 7 days after the finals were announced. Am watching it daily.
Still no news here on the Airline sale, surely there will need to be an announcement from the BOD one way or the other soon you'd think.
G
Volcano - SPT final results out on the 11th, be good if it stays below 2.40 in the next few days, am looking to put a chunk in on a trade, before the report, thought about it early doors today, but held off for another day.
I seem to be playing a game of chicken with that one.
G
Hi Volcano - i bet you got above 40p I jumped too early at 39p this morning, but it's all good mate..
Have also cashed out on CARD will wait to see if there is another dip opportunity in the near future.
Had a few trades on TLW recently, some did better than others, also looking to top up on longer term quality FTSE holds as well.
Meanwhile here it seems to be on a holding pattern, awaiting the Airline Sale news, one way or the other.
G
Swedishinvestor - the key to trading is picking up shares on the cheap, from those that no longer want them, then aim to pass them back to the market at a higher price to be picked up by those that are happy to give you a tidy profit.
Your thoughts on the 5 yr div figures may require further consideration looking forward my friend.
Don't you just love trading folks.
G
swedishinvestor - your £4 sp prediction creates a Mcap of £1.36bn here.
i'm all for positivity but perhaps you could set out your cals. and thoughts behind this.
Maybe take the 31/01/2020 finals as your starting point. maybe consider the NAV @ £221.50k ( kiv this includes intangibles of £319.80k ).
G
Birddog - not sure why the BOD decided to time frame the sale, if it doesn't go thro it will have an impact, which will take the sp back down into the 20's surely.
They were very confident when the initial announcement came out, but it's getting tight.
Am beginning to wonder if WB's decision to move on, is linked in.
I passed back to the market all the shares I'd picked up on trades since the placing back on the 25th Jan, and took my profits, I got 38.1p per share. I've still got all my top slices from trades prior to that. though.
It seems to me that the 40p placing price may be a short term barrier as I wondered if PI's would dump at that level given the chance to get their money back.
As days pass the sp will drift, any positive news and expect a nice bounce.
Never a dull day here, lol.

Every day without any news on the airline sale will increase jitters here Volcano.
I'm hoping for a trade starting with a 2.
G
Hi Volcano - i left my top slice shares in there from trades last year.
Not a huge amount, have done the same with a few of those covid based share trades.
With some it would have been more profitable to go long and strong, but that's not really my way.
For 2021 I'm looking to trade beaten up shares, on recovery hopes, whilst also looking to add and pick up long term quality shares .
G
Agree Birddog. Can't recall the last time my other half ventured into the garage. Full of 40 years of my collected junk, and exercise equipment, ( exercise bike / weights ect ). She often asks if I'm ever going to sort it all out, maybe one day, but not yet .
G
Agree Birdog - no Hols abroad for me in 2021. Both on safety and too much hassle and uncertainty.
Airbnb in the UK and hopes of a sunny British summer for me.
Have you looked at Garden pods for man caves, many new designs coming on the market.
G
Suspect we may get more info on the reasons for WB's departure over coming weeks.
Latest Govt restrictions should add pressure to the Aviation Sector.
SP has held up well today, was wondering if my next trade buy in could possibly start with the number 2, but perhaps not today. Now sitting around 37p. should the Airline sale go through then 40p + could also come into play.
Scotland also gives its latest restrictions, as i type. Not sure how many planes will be flying this year.
Perhaps we should all put our holiday fund monies into home improvements, say Bathrooms and kitchens. Make sure you get your tiles from TPT, ( full disclosure - I trade them regularly too lol ).
No advice given here.

G
Birddog - agree without good news surely the sp will drift down to sub 30p as we move towards the Yr end.
Thought a few more PI's might have bailed on today's news. But atm the sp has settled around 36p.
G
Hi Volcano - got to love this Company.
Should be an interesting few days coming up.
