Well there wasn't much said about the Picton deal but they spoke generally about the general principles of investment.

Out tomorrow and a presentation at 14.00 hrs.

Should get a bit more on Picton dealings. Fingers crossed.

I note MKC is up another 4% getting a bit closer to that $57.

Other good news was the dividend has been bagged but unlikely to be used to buy more here. Im hoping to find an exit strategy. The ice cream side is also melting albeit at a slower rate than the rump. The board are great at sorting out the company but its unfortunate the cast offs keep getting dumped on its shareholders.

The drop is on the open at start of play then Mr Market moves all day it until End of play.

Ex divi 23 April. Two week ceasefire ends 22nd Apr. That odds on might be more evens, obviously didn't think this through.

I don't know if the news was out before or after MKC finished trading. If the latter there might be a bump when the US opens and MKC plays catch up.

I have read numerous threads on various shares this morning with many saying how they were lucky to have bought yesterday. No one posting about buying shell though.

I don't always post my deals live but will do so generally at least on the same day even if its when I get home at 2200hrs at night. I think once I posted late, I forget why, but did post before the markets opened that day.

Of course I could be anybody and just making it all up but you can understand why there is a bit of skepticism when posters tell you of their wonderful times buys and sells in hindsight. Generally we are predisposed to big up the good and downplay the negative.

There are some posters that tell you their trades at the time warts and all. I give those a lot more credence than someone posting about their good luck after the fact. That doesn't mean they are all lying but I don't believe they are all being honest either.

People won't give you flack about your honesty then, just about the merits of your deal

Remember this is from noise and for two weeks. It could easily change due to various factors. Yes its helped the buyback and allowed me a couple of opportunities to increase my holdings and its looking like both batches are odds on for a free dividend.

Still it also allows some to unwind uncomfortable positions. Whilst the majority of positions are up my Shell position has taken a direct hit.

The roller coaster continues.

I noticed the "comb" teeth. I wondered if the buyback was playing a part. It's unusual to see the price moving up and down by a few pence like that. I tried to place a buy with another share doing similar, hoping to hit a down spike but for some reason I never got that option.

That article has dividends at a higher percentage than the 60% you claim will cause higher dividends. So does that mean there will be a cut in the dividend rate or that the article is wrong

Well the SP has hit the levels so as both batches are a free dividend payment. Lucky timings but things could swing back quickly.

MKC shares up 4% on the day. That's half of the lost Billion back. Just need ULVR to follow its lead. I might get the opportunity to bin out of this before the deal if Im lucky.

Im glad you are bullish on the deal and think we are going to get bigger dividends. Maybe you can explain it to me in simple terms so Im not missing what you are seeing.

What are the positives in MKC and are you buying them now they are cheaper than the deal price. How many shares will we end up with in both entities. What sort of consolidation will ULVR be doing. What percentage of ULVR is being sold.

That is before getting to the tricky ones like approval, timescales and debt levels of x4. It's also assuming the synergies and integration work well.

I would ignore broker messages as there is no context with it. It's just feeding your confirmation bias.

Storms often mean the turbines are moved so as not to provide power. A constant wind is better than big gusts

You are currently overpaying by 9 dollars though for those shares.

They are down over 1 day, week, month, YTD 6m, year, and 5 year periods. Doesn't instill confidence of their worth. Hence why I asked if you would be happy to buy them today. At this rate it will be $20 by the time you get them.

Granted it will be infused with some hellmann's but Unilever is selling them for a reason. If they don't want them why should we. I would prefer just to keep the mayo as is than this bad deal.

The presentation was helpful. I have stuck in a limit order to see if I can get a few more on a end of market dip

Yes I watched it live and a few bits on replay. Still their assumptions are no longer valid as both their own and MKC share prices have dropped. That $57 has already fallen to $48.

Now if it was cash instead of paper it might be a good deal

I did click on the link. It doesn't mention the deal just a brokers target which hasn't changed. Obviously we haven't paid for that detail so we don't know what are the details or timescales behind that target are.

It's meaningless really. It could be for 5 years time
