Yep it caused me a few issues as my google portfolio was broken on "SLA" but now fixed. You would have thought changing would cause that much of a problem for LSE to keep the history. LSE include a capital A in their naming not the (in)correct small "a"

You have unrealistic expectations.

They didn't steal 1/3 of the shares. This would have fallen by 355 this morning without. So they swapped the fall by reducing the shares, lots of companies have done the same.

This was a forced sell of your shares, you can buy them back with your cash if you want. It was clearly explained. Which bit didn't you understand?

Poor Oldman, It wasn't a trick. You should be the same relatively not 3k down. I would relook at your figures there might be a slight difference due to rounding and share amounts not divisible by 3 etc

Basically you have swapped a tenner for a fiver and 5 one pound coins. You might not like all that change dangling in your pocket but your not out of pocket.

An orse told me "Subject to shareholder approval of the proposed share consolidation, the final dividend will be re-based to 22.46p per new ordinary share. For comparative purposes the total dividend for 2020/21 of 21.74p will equate to 32.61p post consolidation."

True, the dividend will be paid on the new 2/3rd lower amount of shares left in your account. You can buy more with your cash though

It is related, due to paying you 355 they are taking away x1 share out of x3 to maintain the share price around the 1068 price when announced. With out the consolidation the SP would drop by 355 on Monday. its a 2 for 3 swap.

on the current 1135.75 you are paying, dividing by 3, =378.58 for each 355 share you are going to be given back. So you are loosing 23.58p on those shares.

Oops I got a bit dyslexic with my numbers but that corrected figure just reinforces what I said.

I also have a .5, I must have made a mistake or read something in the Pennon blurb somewhere although I wont quibble over that tiny amount. you can check for yourself on the investor relations page. I did get the right numbers, so 7/3 for trying

Cos the 2 for 3 consolidation is based on 1086.5 so currently you are paying 1137 for shares that will be swapped for less come Monday morning. If it drops below 1086.5 you would gain on the deal so doubt that will happen today either.

Expect some complaints when people start to notice they have lost out trying to get in for the "divi" but find they just got less of their own money back. More important is what will the price do next week without the 2 for 3 anchor.

At this rate the SP will rise after ex divi as everyone is waiting to buy!

Well about a week to go now so expecting a slight rise for the special divi in the run up.

Bristol buy being investigated, as expected but I doubt there will be any issues with the new owner.

I noticed the jump in share price that disabled my limited buy order. I wondered who the buyer was.

A bid is the last thing I wanted right now. I am looking to add more and was hoping a period of quiet would allow the price to drift further down.

I agree that the offer is not that great and would vote against anyway as I cant see the positives for me, shareholders, staff or the public generally.

Asset stripping would be my expectation if it proceeds.

I dont know about a rush to return. Its still on the toppy side imv. Hopefully after the special has taken the wind out of its sales it might migrate to more realistic levels even after this weeks 3.3% drop. there is still time for this to change.

Of course it close to the ex divi date but this is now relatively smaller and the buyback is being done over time so wont/shouldn't affect the SP that much initially unless they start buying huge daily amounts that would be counter productive. I might buyback any in dribbs and drabs hoping that no news/noise allows it to drift lower over time.

I even committed some of the proceeds on a limit order that expires today. I doubt it will get filled as the wanted SP has risen 10% since. Hopefully the share gods guiding my hands to better things here or wasting the cash on something useless.

At this rate there will be no one left here or we will all be lurking in the background waiting for a fall that won't come cos we are now the crowd we wanted to avoid in the first place.

Just been looking for my previous post when I thought that 631 was too expensive and didn't buy. Twas a while ago and didn't find it in 30 sec that I could be bothered.

Maybe one day 1163 will look cheap
