Sadly this was one of the shares I was hoping would continue to fall. There are a few others that I would like to add to that whilst down a tad dont fall into the buying band that I would like. Maybe thats the reason I want them in the first place. Oh well you cant have it all.

yesterday, was RR. down nearly 7%? Up today so volatility still swishing in the markets. That last top up looking ill timed but better than it was yesterday so maybe it was good I was out. Well time not timing in the market is a mantra. Could be worse but looking ok for the weekend, next week might be another story good or bad.

.... but that useless divi can be reinvested to buy more shares even cheaper with an even bigger yield whilst you wait for the price to turn. A while back I was struggling to find something to buy, now I'm struggling to filter out what not to buy.

philpot, turning your argument on its head also limits the oil price rise as it goes up, then more producers become effective. Currently there is an oversupply hence the lower oil price but rig counts are reducing. Ships being told to go the longer way around the world as crew costs are cheaper than alternatives. Maybe we will all be driving gas guzzlers soon but not VW's

As with my plan to increase my overall holdings I have added more at 691 only for it to fall some more. I should have really waited a tad longer to go for a run but thats life I suppose. although I should have waited a tad longer and got them even cheaper. Well I previously said top up at 1700 as it was falling and missed 1600 last time. I considered buying BG. to get the discount into RDSB but there is a risk albit small that it might no go ahead and I would be left with BG's smaller divi and a reduction in SP if it falls through. Yes the fundamentals and outlook dont look great right now but they never do when things appear to be cheap only to wait until things look better the SP will have already risen. Yes the divi might come under pressure but I think there is time to do some things before that happens and more than likely increase debt in the short term in the hope that the oil price will improve later on. I dont know how the market will react if they pay the £750M break fee for the deal ending and the bean counters must be looking at much more than price paid when valuing the deal. If the oil price looked to be lower for longer maybe they could end it but I suspect the deal will be done looking much further ahead. As for a divi cut, in two years time if things dont improve it counld be cut in half and still be over 3%. I suspect buybacks will be the way forward once the deal is done, reducing the overall payment out and making things appear better. Why do buybacks always seem to stop when the price falls when you think it would be the best time to increase them. Next top up 1500 or should I wait for 1400. maybe it depends how much they pay me before then. If it Monday I might give it a miss.

Woland, not sure which engine fire you are elluding too but I dont think it has anything to do with "one engine" I suspect the poorer outlook and trading mixed with a market down turn has more affect on SP Lifts are a safer form of travel but again not risk free

The fit out is well underway and has already had a beneficial impact on the main mall. This deal alone added £5m to net assets. So this is one of the reasons why I prefer them to hold freehold property, hopefully this store must be making a profit as its not been selected to close. Still thats a lot of rent. Some of the metrics look a bit worse, debt, EPS, Profit but the recycling seems to be going ok. The divi stays the same also which it has done for a few years now. I think I would prefer a growing divi although the NAV has increased. Overall steady trading although they talk about Total shareholder return. As for what to do with this, well Im continuing to hold but will look to add on dips but so far these have been few and far between. The divi yield is only 3.5% now too quite low for property but that happens when the SP rises. So a problem albit nice one to have, with what to do with January's divi?

I never said they were even RR rep stated the same and as for being negative Im not sure which bit was negative. Are you sure no aircraft have been brought down by engine failure in 108 years or are you just taking RR engine aircraft . If its just about investments what is the off topic drop down for? You seem keen to close down any talk on this subject which I find even more interesting unless I am misinterpreting your tone. I thought flight safety should be an open and honest subject not kept quite. Maybe I shouldn't mention the BA flight in LA incident in case it upsets you. Although I wonder if that was an engine problem but I won't speculate. I'm glad that events are investigated as this has improved safety enormously over the years and made RR. A premium product and long may it continue.
