Link to the SE Venture info. http://cxa.marketwatch.com/tsx/en/market/quote.aspx?symbol=SE&x=6&y=6 left of screen you will see "halted securities" option which gives an updated info list of halted stocks, clicking on the "price history" tab gives you the recent traded history, yesterday was strong though not massive.... most of it came late in the day. DXE is worth watching too as a indicator, Mikey, DXE are AST partners in Hungary, I know you had a daliance in there at one time so you are up to speed on their influences. Geo
Greetings Mikey, no promises here as I am as in the dark as the rest of the world, but something is cooking. Mars, When a MATERIAL news release which could affect stock is pending, the Venture normally stop ALL trading in the stock until after the equivalent of RNS is fully diseminated, this could be, disaster/really nothing to report/we have found, no data yet/it's a monster and every shade of gray in between, but its normally only for significant information. Interesting post from Oiljack on IV.... http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=12050&mn=6909&pt=msg&mid=8470664 The leakage may have generated a bit of a panic if there is a need to get an RNS out for market compliance, lots of big buys and volume by SE. standards, buys [all] showing as 10.91 on TDW/LSE... somebody just chipped in 274K shares.... Going to look for a suspension pre-Venture open... if that comes it will be a sure fire indicator. -Geo
Not clear on the market technicalities of going into auction, I thought this was when bid/offer met, hope it has! It is an indicator that the RNS could be in the pipes, seen this happen with other stocks, also SE. have had a market suspension on the venture pending a NR.... need to watch for any of these possibilities. I think that the ammount of speculation/leaks on BB's kind of forces a RNS, they are after all suposed to equalise the dissemination of information, we may get a change in SP very soon. DYOR/IMHO - Geo, GLA
I tend to think we won't get an RNS today, 2pm is possible as they have issued prior to the Venture opening in the past, thats where all the action is right now. One post on DXE either for SE or DXE says 170K of shares went out in the last few minutes of trading. The simple fact is that we are now 25 days past projected TD date. You have to read that in whichever way you want, on the half-full side it's a bit beyond well problems, on the half empty side we have had no information leakage up to the last few days - tighthole. How reliable the recent posts are cannot be certain. If though, there is any truth at all in the rumours/posts, there should be a material change to SE value. A trickle of buys UK will not "light-the-blue-touchpaper" here but the Venture opens mid-afternoon, thats where we could get a 5-8c movement triggering a re-pricing here to say 14p. I think it will get a very detailed RNS to move us to fair-value SP near 20p+. I am a bit hacked off as with Breagh we got highly detailed RNS, they annonced logging results after TD then testing results, I think they even RNS'd TD achievement. One of the issues is that SE have to meet both Canada&UK disclosure rules, this may well result in more careful RNS drafting. If Breagh RNS standards were applied as Sterling Resources the operator did, we would have a good quantity of information to digest with enough to determine if this has the prospects of being a long-term hold. The important factor is the de-risking of the other prospects on-block, the market will want rates, good ones, but this is an exploration well. If we get anything more than 5MMSCF/d from a vertical appraisal that should be up-scalable to 20MMSCF/d+ production rate with a horizontal well. If there is enough payzone there added to reserves of a viable size these dolomite/carbonates can be hugely prolific due to the fractured/vugged nature. An exciting but nervous few days ahead folks. I also have not touched on the outside chances that this is oil rather than gas..... that would be massive. BoLA, IMHO/DYOR - Geo
Investor Village Post of Yesterday. http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=12050&mn=6849&pt=msg&mid=8463653 DYOR - geo
Just picked up on a post by Maz12[?] on the investor village DXE site, as this is a BB post cannot be sure how reliable this would be, especially given the 3rd hand nature of it, but ...." National Enquirer Reports, Inquiring Minds Want to Know Since I already have breached any principles I had by reporting gossip on bulletin boards once and my principles are shot to hell, here is another post by Ifudrilltheywillcome on a SE board. I have no idea whether he/she is accurate or not. " Thats the post, use or trash as you consider best. IMHO/DYOR - Geo "I'm hearing (from third parties) that the testing is going slow due to equipment related issues. Still progressing and things have been resolved. I haven't heard anything that would give us an indication about the hit/miss possibilities. They have succeeded in keeping this very quiet. Based on the limited finances of both companies -I guess one could assume that they wouldn't be spending the money to test if they hadn't seen a clear reason to do so. But - I can't make money on assumptions."
OpsGeol, I think all the operators have worked out that you dont get a lot of bang for your bucks through this time of year, only taken them 25 yrs to work that one out. Sad to say, I am out of PVR looking to buy back in come spring, I am afraid the exp/app market hit me hard Q3/4 this year and I have had to trim. I do not see a big move before April on the PVR front so I had to make some choices, with this one news-imminent, I was not going to sell at B/E or Loss, SEY is going the way I expect and I am stranded in GMA after the last RNS. Thankfully on the recovery path with RBS, MTA/LLOY/PVR went for opex. Busy just now with the looks of more coming, well planning a tricky one in Middle East, training courses and QA work coming soon. My contacts in well planning are telling me that there is a boom in pre-spud planning for Q2/3/4ish this year. $80/BBl seems to be a help, plus stored/deferred work from 09. After 30 years in I should be more sanguine about the oil industries attitude to "suspended animation" but after seeing 3-4 of these it is wearing a bit thin. I have an escape plan involving a hobby horse and set of ski's, it may just work! I guess this one is taking its time in the dolly, frac is close to balance in these formations and mud losses can be a killer. I am hoping they had to back off the ROP and tip-toe due to losses/kick cycles but maybe they are just having to go deeper to the sandstone targets, they could be testing but I have heard nothing to suggest, so no RNS is a mystery and I am just trying to read the volumes though there are big sells in Canada after initial buys..... nervy Cheers Bud - Geo
Mars, Link to where all the chat is - http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=12050 Regards - Geo
45K bought first 8 min. -Geo
There is huge speculation over on the Investor village site, the most rampant discussion is on the DXE [Dualex] page where all of the SE crowd have migrated. They are mostly saying that it is a find and tested BUT this is just like Bowmore and I know they were wrong in what they were reporting as fact there. If Syria is a bust then there is downside, but it's minimal. I think they are keeping back debt re-scheduling news to cushion any failure in Syria. If syria comes in I expect about a 4p lift depending on how good, Canuks are quoting crazy values upto 70c [=~40p], it would have to be major for that, propably a 2TCF job. I think 14-18p is more likely. I am afraid I am as in the dark here as anyone else, there is talk of any RNS having to be cleared in Syria... they could be just behind schedule, they could be logging the heck out of it, they could be Testing... nobody REALLY knows. I pop over to GKP to find Mikey and to keep an eye on KRG stuff as I am long term [18months now] in SEY. Best of Luck to you both and all holders, we are due a change of Luck here.. Best to all - Geo
You are a star - Thanks Hows things with you? -Geo
tighthole, as tight as any I have ever seen. Lots of speculation on IV but it's just the same as with Bowmore, and nobody knows even now how that turned out. I have spent over two days data mining for any hint as to where we are with this well and not a sniff of info is out there. The Canuks reckon RNS in days... don't know, but this is nervy. IMHO/DYOR - Geo
Just talk to the Canuks these days uh??? Going to be interesting watching the Venture today, seems to be a marked change in sentiment here, and the big seller fading..... syria runs on and on... what does it mean??? IMHO/DYOR - Geo
something big happening in Canada - http://cxa.marketwatch.com/tsx/en/market/quote.aspx?symbol=SE&x=10&y=9 http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=13216&pt=m&category=A GLA - Geo
2 big buys today, 100K & 154K shares, RNS cannot be far away now. We should know in the next few days where this is headed, 1p down or 4p up would be my guess. Oil Price should help Stratic with W. Don producing below expectation. I still think this will work out with a little more time. Best of Luck Larney. - Geo
I think SE. owe holders an update now as the well is far past it's prognosed TD. The longer this goes on the more damage is being done to the SP, its not dropping more now as it is in the basement anyway but holders need to see some value here, Canada trades are very volatile at the moment, volumes have been high and money-flow is shown as positive since the tax-loss selling stopped. These are optimistic signs in some ways but there is still this nagging doubt, I imagine they are going to bundle the debt re-scheduling news with Syria to soften the blow if this one is another dog. As Larney posted, not many rolls of the dice left here, frustrating for long-term holders. SE are showing a track record of non-delivery on too many projects, Cairgorm/Bowmore, poor performance on Don, Assets sold and gone.... where to now???? IMHO/DYOR - Geo
Tax loss selling in Canada, this SP is basement now. All holders need to cross fingers & toes for Syria. If Syria is no-go there looks little hope for a SP recovery here... interesting RNS from EnCore yesterday though..... SE have to be looking more vulnerable to a T-O take-out if things keep going this way. We need a break. IMHO/DYOR - Geo
The only words I can offer is that I view the SP just about as low as it can go. On that basis, you would have to view the upside potential of a syria success as weak, there are a range of opinions that syria is not material, rather like the Turkey well success has had no major impact. I tend to differ in that Syria offers a 10-20% chance of turning in a very upside result c.400BCF and an outside chance of a curve-ball result, oil/high CGR gas or a bigger than prognosed find.... it is interesting that the SE long term strategy has moved to syria, perhaps that itself conveys something [listen to Q3 presentation]. My main optimism for SE is that they will sort out W. Don in conjunction with Petrofac and get to target production+ giving them the cash-flow to seek drilling success, as such I am looking 5 years out rather than the quick upswing of a syria result, this is in part premised on a return to higher oil/gas prices which I view as inevitable. You can look at the SP plots yourself, Bowmore potential pushed the SP to about 24p, that was without even a known outcome. I suffer from over-loyalty, I tend to keep faith with my initial research and strategy, SE has on this basis rather under-performed my expectations soI am loathe to give you any advice. All I will say is that my current mantra is that you have to get a change in luck at some point with the drillbit, SE have had a run of duds by current evaluation [jury still out on Bowmore in my view]. IMHO/DYOR - Geo
Syria?... mostly 10K type blocks, is there a news leak? Geo
