Almost certainly been advised by nomad/ lawyers that to issue a trading statement when sitting on momentous news, albeit covered by an NDA, would be grossly misleading and lay the board open to legal action

Since the tender requires delivery to start on 5 /9th February,  leaving contract signing until 10th February doesn't give much time

These sorts of shares, where CEOs stubbornly refrain from updating, are really only of use to pension and sovereign wealth funds, where management can be required to sit down and say wtf is going on, Arnold Weinstock style
