Re: Legal status...25 Feb 2009 20:57
Under English/EU/U S Law no contract can have a clause/s which can waiver or minimise personal injury liability, so when things go wrong the tendency is to sue everyone up the chain until you find the one with the deepest pockets or best insurance cover. , this might be different and more difficult in other Legislatures. As I understand it CUS equipment does not carry out laser eye procedures in Australia, but CUS are an Australian registered Company and Aus too have not approved CUS's procedure possibly to my knowledge. CUS is mainly targeting the Indian and Asian market, so far, and then will presumably move into similar regulated territories. I personally would prefer to have my eyes worked on in the Uk/EU or America using tried and tested methods with some guarantee of legal recourse should things go wrong, rather than go abroad to say in India or other Asia countries, so there must be some reason why CUS is concentrating on that Market rather than Europe and America. I am sure the procedure is perfectly safe and sound but I am suspicious as an investor as to why the lucrative Western market place is not being exploited by CUS. Some of the cosmetic surgery Companies operating abroad will actually offer to pay for health tourism flights and pay for hotel accommodation to attract patients and the waiting lists are shorter. This Co is a "one trick" outfit. If it goes wrong and it cannot sell enough products then it has nothing left.
