I'm guessing that the saliva tests will be in a sealed packet inside a sealed box that shows if there has been any tampering or not with the product.

Here's a question for you all.

If the saliva test turns out to be gold standard and Yellow Jersey PR don't do a great job in getting the message out there, would it be distasteful for Medusa19 to advertise the product for general sale to the public on national tv? Would that be a finger down the back of the throat scenario or a masterstroke?

Seriously. I know what the saliva & BAMS test is all about but I'll leave the science to the experts.

After 4 weeks I had my hair cut again today. Not much to take off this time you'll be pleased to hear.

Anyway, I was advertising what Avacta are doing in relation a 10 minute POC saliva test which should be ready for resale sometime in September IMO.
As expected, not one person out of about seven souls had a) heard of Avacta b) heard about this saliva test.
The good news is that they all seemed very excited at the prospect of this test and without prompting talked about many doors this will open regarding lockdowns, self isolating and social distancing at events etc. They also asked if the public will be able to buy it and I told them about Medusa19's online website.

Conclusion - you are going to need a bigger boat Avacta. This is going to be massive.

I've seen it for many weeks now. There is some really sensible, positive stuff about Avacta posted over the weekend but come 7am Monday, it's like you are looking at a different company's BB.
A batch of negative posters who don't post anything over the weekend suddenly appear out of nowhere all doom and gloom like (not including ALL GOB in this because that is a given).

Drives me nuts but I'm relying on you, PL75 and others to put them straight whilst I'm at work.

I've been stating this for a couple of months now MrsKOB but never mind, we are progressing nicely now.
What a great RNS this morning. All the pieces are fitting nicely in place now.

I very much like this bit:
"The manufacturing agreement between BBI and Avacta announced today comprises accelerated development and validation of a scaled-up manufacturing process that has the potential to ramp up to a production capacity of millions of tests per month. Avacta, Cytiva and BBI are in the process of technology transfer of the prototype and related manufacturing procedures for the saliva-based rapid COVID-19 antigen test from Cytiva to BBI."

And this bit:
"Avacta aims to begin clinical validation of the test as soon as possible by using the first pilot batches generated as part of the technology transfer process for these studies. In parallel with these clinical validation studies, which will be run within the UK government’s CONDOR programme and potentially with other collaborators globally, BBI will work with Avacta and Cytiva to produce the additional technical documentation that is required for CE marking of the final product."

And especially this bit:
"“We anticipate very high demand for the COVID-19 rapid test and will be working with our preferred manufacturing partners at BBI to satisfy that demand. We are actively continuing our discussions with other manufacturing partners to ensure that we have access to additional manufacturing capacity to address the global need for SARS-COV-2 antigen testing in the next few years."
