Anyway GaG, the gold isn’t extracted for free. But QGP will use an over collateralised model to fund extraction, much like they will have done to fund VLRM.

Funding the gold extraction and gaining a, let’s say, 15% yield makes it easy to fund a 7.95% yield (on the token) in the segregated portfolio, returning a profit of 4-7%. VLRM make money on the token trades and the conversion of the gold in the ground to token, albeit at a reduced rate for QGP. If 5 billion in gold is tokenised at £200m instead of £500m, for example.

You might be the type that likes to see a lump of gold under your bed for your money. This goes up and down in value, in line with market prices.

Other might like to by an asset backed token, which also goes up and down in value, in line with markets, but also pays a quarterly return (of say, 7.95%).

There are pros and cons with both, so a favoured investment might be 50/50.

But what this does is liquifies previously frozen assets.

Cimbon, I can assure you QGP don’t have $19b of gold bullion stored. It’s verified in ground gold. This is a segregated portfolio company bridging the gap between mines and banks.

QGP are using a price of around $5000 per ounce to value the verified (by world class ground survey) and Underwritten assets.

This allows a bank to loan money against that asset, where as traditionally it couldn’t, or wouldn’t.

So QGP becomes over collateralised when loaning $200million against a $20 billion asset.

This works in the same way when a mine wants to loan money against the gold in the ground. They no longer need to sell half the mine. Verified, underwritten assets. backed
