It appears Fankhauser has allayed the fears of the larger investors in terms of cash position and strategy so I think the imminent crisis is receding. The group had better pull its finger out next summer or I fear we will be back here again.

Alternatively, the vultures could just carry on circling until it implodes as it is clearly not a going concern anymore under the current board of incompetents who stuff their pockets year after year at shareholders expense. I wonder if the £30m of extra costs was deferred to trigger a corporate bonus. I expect so but I doubt it will be handed back.

I agree, turnover is not key, profit is. Profits that EasyJet, TUI, Ryanair and Jet2 are able to make on small margins but not TCG. To blame the weather is not good enough. I have zero faith in this current CEO to turn things around. His performance in interviews in the last few days has been risible and sadly he has not been given a tough time by those posing the questions. Let’s not forget in the last few years TCG has had a rights issue and a re-financing of debts. Eventually, if you keep playing Russian roulette, you will get the bullet. Not that it will concern Fankhauser who has had payrise after payrise for not delivering.

The Telegraph suggests this morning another Rights Issue may be on the way. I can’t imagine most shareholders would want to stump up another penny whilst Fankhauser and co are still at the helm. Very sad that a household name company with £10bn annual turnover is being destroyed by these clowns. You have to wonder where TCG would be now if they hadn’t ousted Green.

I wish the exceptionals were out of the way. More restructuring costs, shop closures etc etc to come which may come above the line from now on instead of below it but will impact nevertheless.
