I have, for me, a considerable amount of VOD shares, robleo, which are currently showing a small profit! I did, however, sell a slightly larger trance previously and lost some capital even with the dividends included. My main attraction here and the reason I bought back in is the low shareprice and valuation. (the CFO buying big is also a positive) My logic is that VOD with its vast, global business, must be worth more and of course historically it was, much more! Whether that "logic" is sound remains to be seen but the weak SP performance has created more doubt in my mind that a proper recovery is imminent. The market just doesn't seem to want to play ball. Anyway, wishing all holders good luck. We might need it! 🤞

As you can probably tell, robleo, I get exasperated with VOD at times. I know Daniel and avocet will be annoyed! The SP performance is dire though and TBH, I don't have big hopes for November's interims due to Germany's deteriorating economic outlook. I'm struggling to see many positives ATM. Maybe you could highlight some, robleo. Despite my pessimistic view, I still feel it's possible for a breakout to happen as I've learned to expect the unexpected in this investing game, which is why I bought back in here some months ago and have held since. Long suffering VOD shareholders certainly deserve a change of fortune 🔮

Looks like Powell's dovish interest rate comments at Jackson Hole are having no effect here. VOD is seemingly stuck at circa 74p and depressingly, I can't see anything between now and the CMA decision in December that will move this dog.

Let's hope we get big hints from Powell et al at the upcoming Jackson Hole symposium that interest rates are about to be significantly reduced between now and December. I believe he's making a speech tomorrow, circa 16.00 UK time. Lower interest rates in the US may be the best chance we have of getting VOD the dog's shareprice to move north in a sustainable way as it will inevitably lead to more cuts here too. Dreams of £1 a share are as far away as ever at the current juncture with Germany, VOD's biggest market, still suffering from a shrinking economy as confirmed today but a big hint on interest rate cuts might just undo some of the pessimism. 🤞

UNITE now seem to be expanding their representations to include 3 customers! The worry is that with their Labour connections they could scupper this

So you think the 3 merger is a bad thing robleo? I was under the impression that it was vital to increasing profitability for both companies whilst also producing enhanced capital of €11 billion to upgrade more infrastructure to 5G! Surely shareholders should be in favour!

Let's hope for once regulators actually support British business instead of pandering to the naysayers such as UNITE. If we want a successful economy you must allow businesses to make profit. It's not a dirty word!

Not so sure as the VOD SP is dropping back. It's seemingly incapable of sustaining any significant rise. VOD continues to be a very disappointing investment.

You'd think with mad Ed Miliband running the show now that lots of energy companies (BP etc.) would be beating a path to ITM's door to get ahead of the game in the green power generation stakes, in time for looming net zero deadlines!

But why did the SP not respond to good results, Beo? That was off putting for investors, hence the trepidation that clearly now exists for potential buyers of the stock, which has created the equilibrium you mention i e. MMs have destroyed sentiment here, post results.

The MMs have destroyed any interest in trading EZJ shares due to them holding the price at an artificially low level with very little movement either way. I feel PIs are not being given a fair deal here due to this clear price manipulation. It's really quite scandalous! AIMOP

There's definitely manipulation going on. Why would the price just stay more or less static for so long? What else can easyJet do but keep filling their planes with travellers and holiday makers in the hope that one day the market will recognise its intrinsic value in an honest way. They can't keep it down forever.

Looks like 74p is the limit. I'd have thought after today's better than expected inflation readout and therefore increased chance of further interest rate cuts that we'd see a bounce here but it's not looking like it. 80p remains the stuff of dreams. To dump or not to dump, that is the question!
